what happened to "go to newest post"

anyone else finding that all the sudden when you click to open a thread listed on screen.. it no longer takes you to the page where the newest post you have not read resides.. but instead takes you to the very beginning of the thread..... which can be pages and pages and pages away from where the newest post is?

often in the user's "preferences settings" one can set their viewing to be of that type organizational layout. Default is usually "go to last unread new post's page", as was the case here forever . Now that is not happening. Not seeing a way to alter this in the preferences here either.

Has something changed in the forum software lately?

I hadn't noticed that. I've removed that ad placeholder and it appears to work again.

well drat...... refreshed after above post but no change.. opening a thread and it still goes to first page. not last page.

That's the only change as of late. It's removed. The display latest post in a thread is a default and unchangeable operation. That's going to be driven by your device cookie and browser.
