Parting shots of "Boondoggle" before she finds a good home to an SS member in Pennsylvania. She's getting picked up today by a 3rd party. Here she is ready for transit.

Bittersweet for sure. But I just purchased an M1078 plus an S280 and an M1082, so I'm upscaling this concept with all the lessons learned.

That is luminescent tape on the ladder (and around the topside of the tailgate when down) so you don't have to worry about missing the steps / falling in the abyss for those middle of the night calls from Mother Nature.

Phoenix, there is some nice engineering as well as craftmanship on your trailer. Well Done. [thumbzup]

Chris, there is one handle that operates 2 cables, and 2 fording valves. One on the intake between the air cleaner and carburetor , and another on the exhaust valve cover breather. When the handle is pulled, it closes the fording valves, allowing the Jeep to run in water up to 37 1/2 inches deep. With the snorkel attached of course.

DSCF2607.JPGDSCF2608.JPG I have had some problems with the Jeep loading up and stalling. I ran across an article on Jeeps having this problem, and the Author recommended installing a fuel filter to prevent junk in the fuel tank, from being picked up by the fuel pump and delivered to the carburetor, where it can get in between the needle and seat flooding the engine. I looked at lots of fuel filters, and just didn't find one that I thought would do the job, and also fit snug on the engine. Then I came across this filter that a seller had on his M37, and it fit nice and out of the way. It comes with 2 inches of fuel line, and 2 clamps, and screws into the carburetors 90 degree elbow. It's easy to install and best of all it works. Drove the Jeep around for an hour or so yesterday, and didn't have one episode of flooding and stalling.

Win lose or draw this month, I was able to take two (2) dissociated pieces of militaria and revitalize or otherwise repurpose them into one (1) homogeneous unit that taught me a lot in the process and provided my family some memories. I also think I really pushed the envelope for what is possible with these smaller military vehicle components.

Now it will be providing another family memories together, outside, in a utilitarian and stylish conversation piece.

Hard to not feel like a winner.

PS: I still would like to win, so that's not a concession speech...
