Every body don't have a M816? Tell me it ain't so. If you have some thing bigger than a jeep or a Mutt in the yard, You need a wrecker. It stands to reason. It is written some place:beer:

The best way I've heard of is to take four 55 gal drums. Jack the bed up and put pieces of pipe between bed and frame. Hook the bed to a tree or something and pull forward a couple of feet place two drums under the bed overhang off the back. Pull forward again until the bed is almost at the end of the frame. Place the other two drums under the front end and then pull away.

I've got a big forklift myself but if I didn't this is the way I'd do it.
Or just use the M816

Nosliw with the rear most mounting position, wouldnt it make it faster rather than lift more?
That's right. The farther you move the hoist back, the less it will lift weight wise. It will go up faster and dump at a steeper angle though. It also puts more stress on the hinge and bed frame the farther you move it back. Where ever you put it has tradeoffs. You just have to put it where you feel is best but I wouldn't mount it any farther back than is necessary to get the dump angle you want.

I ordered mine 3 days ago. Shipping was 128 to my house i will have to get a forklift to take it off the truck.

How long did it take to ship?
Shipping was quick. Ordered it on Thursday and it was at my work on Tuesday.

Rear most mounting position lowers lift capacity, raises bed lift angle, and yes, it would make it raise faster. The only two options were 66" and around 100".

Be sure to hang on to the long bolts with springs on them that mount at the front of the bed. They worked awesome as "alignment dowels" when re-installing the bed.

I Got my hoist today! I will probably start working on it next week sometime after i finish a tractor project.

Nosliw have you started yours yet? If so are you taking pictures? I would like to see some close ups of the hoist itself mounted and the hinges also.

Yeah. I finished mine a week or so ago. I can take some pics of the aftermath. It was easy though. You shouldn't need much guidance. just be sure the hinges are centered on each frame rail and the height is correct. you want to make sure you raise the hinges high enough to clear the 3/4" wooden strip, but not so high as to raise the bed off this strip. mine are a little tall. i can see a little light between the bed and the top of the wood strip near the hinge.

You havent happened to time how long it takes to dump have you. I sure am itchy to know the speed of these things

Went to the quarry the other day to pick up some 67 rock for the driveway and the loader operator put 14,000 LBS in the truck, We had to get the tractor and scoop alot out before it would even try to dump.

Luckily i only had a mile and 1/2 to go! but it was so slow maybe 35-40 MPH is all...

Thanks

This could be a very useful install. I'm trying to figure out how to put my side by side on a deuce. This could help make it a lot easier

Hello I just installed this kit thought I would give you guys my two cents. weld back hinges on keep the bed on truck lift and block bed up, install the lift bolt in lower pins lower bed down, adjust the lift where you want it up and down left to right and drill for top pins weld everything in after. I didnt have to cut the bed at all fit perfect I had to move rear cross member back tho and flipped it upside down. received_595291794529756.jpegResized_20200412_152128.jpeg20200412_142205.jpg

After reading helm1008's post, I followed suit and installed my hinges with the bed still on and then used the tractor to lift the bed and install the hoist.

Went to the pit and brought some sand home. Each time 5 tons was requested, but mileage may vary based on the loader operator. Three loads were emptied without issue. 4.99, 5.38, and 4.85 tons. The 5.75 ton load that was loaded more towards the cab of the truck required removal of sand with the tractor before it would dump.

Overall I should have done this install years ago...

How much PSI is your pump putting out? When I first installed the dump on my deuce, I had a heaping load on and it wouldn't dump it without removing some first. I checked my pump, and it wasn't putting out but 1,500 psi. I bumped the pressure up to 2,500, and I have since dumped 8 tons (yes, I know that is a little too much for the deuce, but it handled it fine).

So I can figure out how to measure it, but forgive my ignorance on adjusting the pressure the pump puts out. What would the process be for that?
