These gringeltaube photos of a fuel tank apart might help.
I did read many threads in SS about different ways to clean out the fuel tank but right now can't find them.
Be careful with gasoline. It will help if you can get that large bottom drain open.
I was afraid I was going to have to do some cutting and re-welding

Some radiator shops will clean a fuel tank.

Also look up Redi-Strip in your area. They have an electrolytic process that not only cleans out all the gunk, but kills the rust.

Get enough Diesel-compatable tank sealer (google Bill Hirsch or Eastwood) and roll it around to cover all surfaces.

It will be good to go for years then.

If you find a shop that repairs radiators they will boil your fuel tank. You can also try a machine shop and see if they will put your tank in the engine block hot tank to clean it.

Well a little bit of good news on the fuel tank situation. There is a company called centennial radiator in Dallas that will completely clean/fix/and put permanent liner in the tank for around $250.00

I would like to try this method one day on a practice tank if I ever come across a spar but at this moment I have little faith in my mig welding skills on this thin of metal hahaha

Well, either way getting that cleaned up is a good place to start! How bad is the inside of the tank?
The inside had about 3” or more trash in the bottom and the walls are covered in rust. May be rusted through. I’m taking it Tuesday to have it repaired/cleaned/ and lined

I got the tank as clean as possible on my end and now I’m sending it off to Dallas to centennial radiator to finish cleaning and repairing it. Said $250-$325 to clean/repair/permanently line the inside.
