There is no set no load adjustment. When we would shut a gen set down, we never moved any setting. Most of the time when you started a set, the hertz came up a tad high, but after the set warmed up, and our load came on, it was about normal. Also, we never depended on anything being "normal". Our loads from gen set to gen set were variable. Temperature often made a difference. Some of the equipment would automatically turn on and off heaters. Big load difference. Our rule of thumb was to start a set, throw it on line, and then come back 1 half hour later to check/adjust it. And of course we had what was called Six Hour Checks. This was the forerunner to PMCS, (Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services. In HAWK, we rarely left a set unchecked longer then 1-2 hours anyway. A good way to do it is just like you did with your 002A. 61.5-62 hertz. Then check it again later. Most of my sets were Precise sets anyway. The electric governors were suposed to compensate for variables. But mostly didn't do a good job.

I have read the manual multiple times and went through these threads for a couple weeks before i wanted to ask anyone. Beings you worked on them i figured it be best to start with you. My mep803a runs great and everything works good with that being said, it will not go above 58.5 hertz. I have checked it with a hertz guage to verify the actual guage. I will attach pics as well. You say yall never adjusted them after you shut them down and all the markings look original. After all the searching for an answer what would need to be done to get my hertz adjusted to the proper setting or is there another issue?

So, you screwed the throttle control out as far as it will go, and that as high as it will get, 58.5 Hertz?
That is correct. It is as far out as it will come and turn and it is against the stop in the 3rd pic. I didnt want to adjust the stop as i would think that is there for a reason. And it will adjust down as well and drop 3 or 4 hertz. But 58.5 is as high as it will go.

Now we cooking with gas!

Your cable could be stretched a bit.Inked494F8287-7638-4AB6-A585-48D1CE46A714_LI.jpg
Unscrew #3 just a little bit. Loosen nut #1, just a little bit. Tighten nut #2 a bit, until it stops turning. Tighten #2 and #1. Start set and see if your hertz has gone up. Adjust as needed. 61-62 hertz is good. Under a load, the hertz can and will drop. DO NOT GO CRAZY with these adjustments. They are factory set, and normally you never need to fool with them. A little bit is to me, maybe two threads. And do not forget to tighten up all the lock nuts when done.

Thank you. I did not want to mess with that screw until someone that knew about these sets would confirm that. I will do that tomorrow and see what happens. The motor and all i am good with knowledge wise but the generator part and electrical part i was iffy if it would mess something else up. Thanks again!

I had to move it that far but its up to 60.5 hertz now. I will adjust a little more for when it has a load. Thanks again!
