I bought a bunch of thoes Florida titles for the humvees--the titles were laughed at in NJ motor vehicle--to get my money back I delt with iron planets legal dept--sent them the facts and they sent me check-----that worked out well---put in 2 valid claims under the IronClad Assurance and was told its my fault--I should have inspected the items although no inspections were allowed due to high work load ---that was real bad-----will have to visit legal again---

I've bought several things from GP. Albany, Newnan and Fayetteville. The only issue I had was that the info on Fayetteville pickup was wrong/missing. Once I got a working phone number for them it was resolved quickly. Had a delay of over 30 days finding out where to pick it up though. 6kw Light tower (works fine, $200), MEP 802A generator on a trailer GREAT SCORE $1000 (works great, Basically new), rough terrain pallet jack needed about $75 dollars to have it up working, Sewer cleanout machine and air ventilator (worth $1000 each and basically new for $200)

You made a LOT of great scores. Nice!

What exactly is an RT Pallet Jack:

- Jack on balloon tires of some kind or something?!

I have delt with Richie brothers before.
What a sham. they charge the seller through the teeth and then the buyer through the nose.
My D9 i bought ran for 5 min and then it blew the pump.
I was Livid. the auctioneer basically told me to F%@ k myself. #3500 later for the pump.. all is well.

A couple of years ago I bought a M923a1 from GP, my biggest hang up was the military base, after I was "allowed" on base I loaded my truck on my drop deck and left, my SF97 came a week later, I had the truck inspected(vin) by the Highway Patrol, then I took their paperwork, SF97 and my insurance to my tag agency, got my plates and been happy.

I'm not Bashing anyone, I'm just sharing my experience and asking if anyone has had similar experiences,

My purchase experience with GP has so far been an expensive and time consuming headache. Un answered emails seem to be the norm in my case, hopefully not the standard operating procedure. My first purchase from GP on my FLU 419 went smooth while the money was flowing their way. After the purchase was completed and all money was wired, the only thing I heard were the crickets chirping in the night.
The GP inspection is not accurate as the auction listing stated that the hand throttle was inoperable, it however failed to mention that the entire throttle linkage was busted which renders the vehicle un-driveable (safely anyway). After $4500 to ship it to the border and the price of two new batteries, my FLU arrives at the border. I receive the FLU from Texarkana without the hood, spare tire, tools missing and busted up throttle linkage making it un-drivable and it now sits in Customs limbo (@ $10 bucks a day) as I am unable to get them to clear it in this condition.
I won't bother with the expensive Title nightmare as it is discussed elsewhere on this site.

GP Customer Care (?) has been little to no help with any of the problems that I am having. I know they are busy so I am trying to be patient and understanding, However...... Everyone has their limits.:cookoo:

My big issue with this purchase is that the MV that I received is not as described in the listing inspection. 12 grand sitting at a truck stop 40 miles away in the US unsecured and uninsured (no title), all that I have been able to get in response from GP is ...Nothing.

I am in no way trying to be negative toward GovPlanet, I am only sharing my experience. I am sure that most go without a problem that this is not the usual way that things end up. I hope no one else has to go through this.

Time for me to lump on. I won a M1008 and a military Suburban used by the base fire department on 2-2-2022. I picked up a week later and when I got home I thought about the fact I didn't get paperwork. I had gotten a lot of stuff from Gov Liquidation and each time I walked away with the SF each time. Printed in my name. That was back in the day when you got it directly from the DRMO lot.
I called the pickup contact and asked if I forgot to get the paperwork and he said they would send it if I asked for it. I didn't remember being asked during the checkout procedure. I called and checked and was told the SF97 was automatically selected and would be mailed out in 30-60 days. I checked the faq and it said the SF97 would be mailed out with an assignment letter with it. Now it seems the SF97 comes with their name on it instead of mine. Not sure how this change came about but clearly a change was made to make things easier on DRMO or Gov Planet or both. I hate when this type of stuff goes on. Things should be easy for the customer not the seller.
I got both vehicles running and was going to daily driver one when I got the paperwork. I started fixing and upgrading when I told myself to stop until I got the paperwork. Full Stop. At the 30 day mark I called to check on it and was told the 30-60 days is working days not actual days. This really seems deceptive. That makes the 60 business days actually 12 weeks or 3 months for the math challenged people. So if I was trying to be transparent I would say 90 actual days instead of 60 business days. I was also told it was in process and they had no update. With the real timeline in mind I patiently checked my mail every day.
Fast forward to today. I called again as I passed the 60 business days or 90 regular days as I have called it. Now I was told the seller never sent the paperwork to them. The seller as the US government. I was told it would be another 30 business days.
I know people complained about Gov Liquidation when they got the contract. I also remember the old days of going to DRMO and bidding in person. It seems that the buying experience is getting worse and worse all the time when buying government surplus. I guess no one else cares because DRMO and Gov Planet are making there money fast with no incentive to provide the product or paperwork in a timely manner.

Best thing that happened to me was when GP suspended my account when its computer auction system showed I won a wrecked Police Car in Albany, when I was bidding on Hummvee tops in Lake Butler, FL. I tried to explain after calling the office & they flatly stated, you pay for the car & pick it up or be suspended.

Their second deal was to pay a $500.00 cash fine & keep the account open. Screw them, I have saved lots of money not bidding on GP anymore.

It was a Long time ago you bought anything , when I bought my deuce from GL in 2009 ( out of Selfridge AFB ) it was $60 for the SF-97 and you had to pick up the truck before you order the SF-97.

My Albany Georgia winch pickup and the liers at govplanet. On 06-15-23. So I purchased a winch from the Albany, Georgia location. 416 miles round trip. I scheduled my pickup and called the Albany location. I left at 930 am and At 1030 am, I called albany and was told they would be leaving at 230 due to rain and that I needed to get there before then. I drove down and got there at 200 pm, I found a closed gate.

A very cheery neighbor from the neighboring business came out and said that they left and he caught hell all the time for people not being able to get there packages because they just go home when they want. No phone calls or nothing. He said it happens all the time.

So, I called pickup support and asked what was happening. They called the manager and he said they decided to leave due to rain and lighting and that they lost power and the computers went down and they could not call anyone. And that was it. I called the pick-up support back again and asked them to call the manager and send someone back to the gate, David refused to come back said it was raining where he was.

I asked to cancel the sale of the winch, which I had already paid for. She stated they would not cancel the sale but I would be reimbursed for my trip. She said an approval for trip fee was placed on my account. She said that they were dealing with a lot of upset folks at that location.

We went back the next day 16 hours total worth of driving and got the winch. I turned in my fuel receipts and my request for the cost of the trip.

Chelsie, with customer service got back to me and said that she called David and that he called all the pickups and told them they were leaving and that they denied my request. Which is 100% a lie.

If anyone else has been screwed by this group of clown's please send me a message. Do you think we could file a suit for this type of service. I am guessing that this has happened to other people.

Compensating onsequences of some kind, for total disregard of the paying client, are justifiable and (fairly) due.

Good luck with the mission!

Dont expect ANY customer service from them. Expect them to lie about the condition and if you catch them lying, you will not get any money back or be able to return the item. Bid low with these expectations.
Why you always pay for things with a CC. So you can dispute anything you bought that was not as advertised. My Amex works for me.

Not to contradict the tremendous amount of bad reviews, but my experience and purchase with GovPlanet was flawless, so I believe credit should be given where credit is due.

Caveat: I bought through their "Marketplace E", which is a reselling market for similar equipment that you get at regular auction, so maybe processes (or at least personnel) are slightly different, but this is still part of the GovPlanet (or Ritchie Bros) services, and for me this service worked perfectly.

I found a refurbished HMMWV that I liked on their Marketplace E. I placed an offer for the vehicle and waited the 2 business days for what I expected would be an "accept", "decline", or "counter offer". After 4 business days I called the GovPlanet sales department to see what was up. They informed me that the seller had set a no-less-than limit that my offer did not reach, so my offer was deemed unacceptable and was therefore classified as "invalid".

It probably would have been nice to know that "invalid" was another option, but they do provide you a number to call in the event that you have questions about your offer. So I guess if you are a serious bidder, you will call the number, which is exactly what I did. They were responsive to my questions, explained the reason that my bid was stuck, and offered to call the seller and mediate a fair price.

They promptly called me back and advised me of the sellers "left and right limits" (to use a military term), to which I provided what I thought was a very fair bid for the HMMWV, which was promptly accepted by the seller.

I received the title for the HMMWV before it even arrived, and the HMMWV I received was exactly as advertised by the seller.

If I had to say something negative (or really "informative") for the buyer, it's that don't be off-put by the extreme inconsistency in business names. I read this on a review, so I knew what to expect, but it was still a little unnerving (especially when you're about to drop $30k+ on an HMMWV) to see.

In my case, I found a vehicle on GovPlanet, yet the pictures were watermarked as IronPlanet. When I called sales, they answered as IronPlanet, yet when they called back, the Caller ID said Ritchie Bros. And finally, when I received my purchasing invoice, it went through TruckPlanet! Crazy and confusing, but if you expect it before you start, then you just roll with it through the process.

I'd also like to add that the purchasing process was very intuitive (and automated): As soon as the offer was accepted by the seller, my account was updated with the next step (wire them the money). Once the wire transfer was received, my account was updated with the shipping options. The whole process was well automated and easy to follow step-by-step.

The next time you need to pick up something from Albany let me know. I live and work near there and pick up and store things for people as a favor to avoid these issues. I have a facility in Albany with a forklift to load and unload. My experience there has been good but driving long distance and closed is bad business.
