I have this BAE heater blower in my M998 '89. It is not connected to the splitter/diverter box. Is there a duct or piece that goes between the fan and splitter box? Any help/ heater diagrams/ or heater p/n are appreciated.

Looks like hose #21 and #24 and their associated clamps. You will find this diagram in TM 9-2320-280-24P-2 which will also list your part numbers. Looks like you're also missing a fan shroud to help connect the two. Only thing that I could find was this part #.... 01-05087.

This is a great start! Thank you for the figure and TM reference. So now the delima p/n 21 is a round duct and the blower is a square hole. So sometime after there was a change? Do you or anyone have pictures of their heater especially those that are not OEM configurations.

That is not the correct fan for that 998. That is the blower for the A/C system. You will be fabricating to make it all work, or just buy a correct fan. The correct fan has a round tube outlet, not square.

I have seen the round ones on vehicles but not at any of the dealers or surplus stores. Do you know the p/n of the OEM blower by chance?

So normally the fan motor seizes up due to dirt blocking the blades so the motor is sold separately but the squirrel cage part is required and it looks like you are missing that. So I think you may need to get the entire heater core and blower assembly.

I was able to find the figure in the manual. I have found a couple used and will look to see what condition they are in. MY guess is the motor is toast.
Thanks for the p/n. It was helpful

If you get a good deal on a used one and the motor is shot you can get that part easily but the fan housing is what you are missing.
