Well I got the new bearing in. No one local had the "green" Loctite , so had to order it from McMaster Carr. There are more kinds of Loctite then you can think of. Ended up getting and using 680 , had a pic of the bottle but it did not come out. All the rest of it went back together OK. The hard part is getting the 14 roller bearing in the input shaft to stay put. Got it refilled with a mix of 40wt oil and lucas (8-1). Was spinning it by hand and did not see any oil getting into the 2nd gear holes so I pelubed it. Check the sifting in all gears and the PTO. All seem to work good. Now to get the lube trailer flipped back over and the wheels on so I can get it out of the shop and the deuce in. Then I can get the trans back in and all the other stuff hooked back up.

 Well life got in the way again...

Got the tuck in the shop last week and started the project again. Trying to find where I put all the parts has been a pain. Found the u-joints needed replaced. Had the one's for the front shaft all ready , but had to ordered the ones for the winch drive shaft and the one's for the short shaft. Got them in today only to fine out they sent the wrong one's for the short shaftaua. Also so decided to replace the clutch ,( clutch replace or not??? | SteelSoldiers )so I'm going to do the rear main seal too. Then a oil change and new fuel filters. Flush the cooling system. Then I think the fenders need some work and the troop seats are completely shoot.

Well back it out of the shop yesterday under its own power for the first time in 11 years. It started right up with no problem after sitting all that time. Just no brakes. Going to run it and flush the radiator and move back in to the shop for an oil change and fuel filters and new front axle boots, seals, wheel cylinders and brake hoses. Need to fix some rust on the fenders. Been thinking of pulling the engine and cab to clean up and repaint the frame.

Well got the radiator flushed out. Pulled the fenders off for some rust repair. Pulled the front axle to replace the boots , seals and brake lines. Next is the spring so I can repaint it. Also found one of the wheel bearing was rusted . Started to sand blast some part for painting. Thinking real had about pulling the engine out and taking the cab off to clean and blast the frame for repaint.

Thats odd........everyone seems to be getting their Military vehicles serviced and running all of a sudden. People are posting about bug out vehicles etc...I live remote, and no TV....Am I missing something other than a large rifle primer shortage?
around here you cant find any kind of primers . As for me I got out of a toxic relationship and now I have time for shop therapy. Money is still short but I'm slowly catching up , that's why work is going slow.

Money is short everywhere now. Prices on building materials have increased 200% in the last 6 months, so I imagine other things like parts and food are also increasing. Going slow is still moving forward. Keep it up.

Just beware of "project creep"! Seeing you have the engine out already, you could..... see where this is going?
