Longest thread ever I know. I am now going through the axles . Ran into an issue with the axle shafts being modified so I had to pull everything from my parts truck. Ive got it all about ready to put it back together .

The u joint axle shafts have had the washer/bushing removed from them in order to get enough clearance with the old style seal retainers

Ok 8 years in and still working on the truck. It is still moving along. Recently installed all new wheel cylinders and completed the bearing service all the way around. hoping the air pack is good but with my luck and history with this truck its probably not. in addition I have removed the sketchy u bolts on the rear suspension and will need to have replacements made.

Was able to get the rear u-bolts out. The passenger side is done. M35a2 front u-bolts are almost a direct replacement for rear m108 u-bolts

Thanks for the steady updates Chuck.

Everytime I see your progress, I get motivated to work on mine.
i told myself if I didn’t make any progress in 2022 I was going to get rid of it. (Which I really didn’t want to) so Little by little it has been moving along. Still plenty to do. I’m hoping the air pack is good but it most likely will not be.

It seems like every airpack I take apart has a seriously corroded can. Big Mike has access to replacement cans, but by the time you buy a kit, and a can, you might as well have bought a new or NOS one.

Next job is bleed brakes and see what happens. All new wheel cylinders . Going to bleed with alcohol first.
