I just need another CUCV to put it in...
Funny you say that. I've been looking for a low-or-no rust M1009 for my next project. When I install the P400 / 765R4 / NP241 into my M1028, I will have an extra complete, original, clean, 15,000-mile OEM drivetrain with no home. There have been several guys wanting it, but they are wanting me to give it to them. Ideally, if I could find a clean rolling chassis, I would piece together a frame-off restoration.

I have a frame and brand-new axles if you would like to start from the foundation up. M1009 frame and you can put any body on you like. I am fresh out of GM pickup cabs and K5 Blazer tubs.
Rick I may be interested in your M1009 stuff. I'll reach out to you via phone soon to discuss.

I've been wondering about the whole issue of re-gear or look for a 700r4; the latter seems to be fairly scarce.
I'd rather not get into the whole computer control situation (4l80)... Ghost in the Machine etc.
For now, with no clear sign from the spirits, I'm of the "Wait-n-see" tribe.
