    What I want to know is why 6tm batteries are rated so low for their size, you would think they would be rated higher.

    Yes two large truck batteries will work very well, I believe the size is d8 and you can get them at Sam's club for around 100.00

    As far as I know all five tons have four and yes they will generally work on two but if you are going to slave off other five tons you really need all four.
