    HMMWV Blue Force Tracker Setup

I can say with ecstatic excitement that the original BFT PU I broke has been repaired! It was 100% in fact the BIOS chip that somehow gets corrupted when entering security enrollment in the menu. This took a bit of research but we were able to rob the BIOS memory from a functional BFT, then...

    HMMWV Blue Force Tracker Setup

Anyone know if any of the newer MFoCS II series BFTs have gotten into epay circulation? Specs are probably much beefier :P Probably at least 5 years is my guess https://www.psmagazine.army.mil/News/Article/2860821/computers-protecting-the-mfocs-pu/

    HMMWV Blue Force Tracker Setup

I just finished my vehicle power harness, about to test it while I wait for the new computer. Should be in next week some time. I’m hoping that whatever I actually broke was in fact the bios chip. If so, there may be a good chance of recovering that unit as well. I ordered an SPI flashing...

    HMMWV Blue Force Tracker Setup

Update: I think what I did somehow wiped and/or corrupted the bios. Regardless of that, I’ve got another unit on the way, couple hundred dollar mistake of curiosity I guess. I’m looking into the possibility of cloning the bios flash from the new one to the old one, will see how far the...

    HMMWV Blue Force Tracker Setup

Hey all, Starting this as an informational thread for setting up a DRS BFT AN/UYK-128 system. First off - curiosity killed the cat. I got everything hooked up, upgraded the 160GB hitachi drive to a 500GB SSD, and then upgraded from 2->4GB DDR2 RAM. System was booting up into the pre-boot setup...

HMMWV Serpentine Belt Issue - 6.5L

Update on my situation, it’s only been slightly resolved. After many different configurations with washers, I ended up doing the same stack of 2x washers per bolt on the bracket as OP @phemer This solved my immediate issue of the the belt getting shucked off the AC compressor in only a few...

HMMWV Serpentine Belt Issue - 6.5L

I’ve got pretty much the exact same issue as the OP. M1043A2 with Sanden + Red Dot AC, 126” belt. I ran the truck for about 4500 miles with no issues (the last 1000 of which I finally got the AC system running), then one day it throws a belt. I noticed it came off the AC compressor. What I also...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Finally decided to drop the trans on my truck and change the flexplate. I had issues where occasionally the starter wouldn’t engage the flexplate teeth and just grind them down further. This spawned from some start switch issues many months ago. Needless to say I drove around with a 1” wrench to...

Hard Start Only On Cold Start

I’ll chime in here, only ever get the KDS S3 box nowadays, all the other ones have been obsoleted. The KDS S3 paired with the correct TSU is the most recent revision and simply works, no questions asked. You can buy a full set from HPG. I can’t attest to trucks but the KDS S3 will work on any...

Definitely takes patience to renew the original x doors, looking awesome.

Welp this may have something to do with it shucking the belt heh

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Really? Will have to figure it out with David then, I got both to test the length. I think I used 12469149-3 when swapping the 400 to a 200A a while back, gonna have to go back and check.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

12469149-3 is too long 12460226-4 is too short Pulley next to oil filler is offset towards the back and misaligned with the rest trying to remember which hole the alternator bracket should be bolted through, since the top bracket has 2 holes. That’s my only suspicion as to the belt length...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Also PSA: If your engine is a Melton rebuild, the drain hole will be permanently plugged. I’ve also seen the rubber injection pump feed line dry rotted on a few trucks, thus a small leak.

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Rebuilt and re-mounted my Red Dot AC system. About half the fittings are new, all new hoses, flushed evap and condenser, new expansion valve, new condenser fans, and a new mounting solution. System is oiled and charged and blowing cold air with green lights on the ProTechT module. These units...

    Clogged Up Catalytic Converter?

Curious to see how cleaning it out went, seems like you got quite a bit of soot out per the other thread? Any difference in power?

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I suppose given the heat levels it’s normally exposed to, could also just leave a heat gun pointed into it at full tilt for a bit lol Curious how well this’ll work for ya, might give it a try on mine. For now I just robbed a cat from another truck, so the clogged one is sitting on a shelf.

    Windshield retainer question

Yea I've got a set I need to clean up and sandblast - though I question the effectiveness of these. I feel like they don't really push up against the rubber seal all that much - I'm at least able to intall/remove the windshield even with those installed. I actually thought they were some sort of...
