on the window crank front, replaced with an LMC part, came in chrome but nothing a little black paint cant fix. The clutch was busted as well, but instead of replacing I just put a little picture hanging nail in there and all is well. Didn't think to take any pictures.

I was gonna say, HMMWV seats that I remember were horrible. The TC seat was just a pad of foam on top of the battery box, and the driver's seat was one step up from a lawn chair.

When I go to replace the leads, they're just plain 1/4" female spade terminals right?

Seems to me that these lines are a weak spot of engineering. Has anyone looked into re-designing them and putting them on the market?

Fuel filter change, followed the -20 and went as smooth as butter. Although the price on the filter ($31 @ Napa) made me consider a spin on filter mod in the future.

Zero, I only cover 1/2 of the radiator with the card board. I slipped the cardboard inbetween the grill and the rad so that it came in contact with the rad and gets pushed/sucked into place. Hardley see it there what with the front end frozen solid for 4 months of the year.

I agree with panama, I drove my 1009 between Wasilla and Fairbanks every other weekend durring the summer, 350 miles one way and I have had no ill effects yet other than my wallet. With fuel here in Alaska @ $4.10 to $4.65 in some places going 75 saves about an hour but I have to filll up...

does this fix the gansta lean that seem to come with all these trucks? I very rarely have a passenger and if I do, they can lean back instead of me.

I watched our motor sergeant just rev up the motor and watched the tip come flying out the tail pipe on our HMMWV. Maybe not the best method?

When you buy the new u-joints if they are grease-able, be sure to grease em. I ended up doing the front of the rear drive shaft about halfway between Anchorage and Fairbanks one trip, lucky there wasn't that much snow on the ground, just real f-ing cold!
