Just drove my new m35a2 home

Turn key, drove-it-home Whistler for $1800? You made out like a bandit on that thing. Congrats!

    going to bob my deuce

That's gonna COMPLETELY change the look of your rig. Awesome, man. How much are HEMTT's going for now? They were fairly reasonable back when I got mine Spring of 2010. I'll PM you where I got mine.

    going to bob my deuce

Great idea on the wheels. HEMTT? They're worlds easier to mount tires on than stockers! That's what I had and man do they fit and look sweet. I mounted my 395/85R20 Michelins in my garage! :) There are stamped steel wheels out there, too. You just have to have someone mount the tires on...

    going to bob my deuce

Now start saving your money for lockouts. They made a world of difference on my deuce. I got my AVM's from C&C Equipment in IN. Clint had an awesome price.

    filming the M923 in action

Awesome video. Count me in......another person wanting an M923. :) "But honey, it's an auto with power steering this time......".

    going to bob my deuce

Definitely worth a look. Easy fix if it's the problem.

    going to bob my deuce

With regards to your wander......what I found the cause of my wander was the draglink end sockets weren't properly tightened. Followed the TM to the letter and no more wander. Slap some lockout hubs on there and it'll be a completely different truck. C&C has a decent price on AVM's-what...

    To V8 another ? YES

Spicergear, you hit the nail on the head. Reminds me on the Whistler in my old Deuce; the mechanical connection. The whistle builds and builds, clutch, whistle drops, shift, whistle builds again, repeat......memories.....

    To V8 another ? YES

Chevy 350's are the easiest and least expensive, that's for sure. Spicergear has some awesome ideas. They'd be car show attention magnets, no doubt about that! :) As for the 4BT.....mercy, my dream swap. But, around here? Those little boogers may as well be gold plated. Sorry, ain't paying...

My M932a1 from Camp Shelby arrives !

Sweet truck! Congratulations. I gotta admit......the more I see 932's, the more I like 'em. And as a tractor? By far, my favorite variation.

    going to bob my deuce

Oh man......HEMTT wheels for sure. That's a scary huge tire to put on a stock Deuce rim. I know, I know......they can add up rather fast but OH are they easier to mount tires on and the look/fit is second to none. I mounted all my 395/85R20's in my garage by myself. Yours are bigger but the...

    Cutting frame on a bob

I cut mine the same amount I cut the bed: 36" The bumperettes lined up just like they did stock. I merely removed the whole rear crossmember and slid it inside the frame after shortening.

    The Dead Rekoning, my M35A2.

Great pics! It's nice putting a picture to the truck you described on the phone the other night. You did great. What a cool rig. If you want any pointers on bobbing, let me know. I'd be glad to show you how I did mine. I could always meet you in Imperial where you keep the truck sometime.

Weighed my bobbed Deuce this morning.......

Hi Kevin, Man, that was a monster! Those are definitely not 44" tires. I'm thinking 52's? A 352 Ford motor? Well, that's an interesting swap. :) But alas, I have no knowledge of that rig. Sorry about that. I'm far from Springfield, too. I wish you the best of luck in your search...

    :ditto: Well put!

    I'm just curious...

You sound like me......I always had my eyes open for an M37 but they're riding a outlandish price high in recent times so they were out of the question. The "bang for the buck" factor of a Deuce is outstanding. I couldn't have even got a restorable rolling turd of an M37 for what I paid for a...

    I'm just curious...

I can't speak for WA, but MO does not require a CDL to drive a Deuce. In theory, a bobber would change the dynamic of the truck thus how it's rated. BUT.....there never was a mass-produced bobbed Deuce so there is no specification base to refer to. So it's basically just a "hot rod" version of...

    I'm just curious...

"So tell me, why did you buy yours and what do you use it for?" I bought my Deuce because I'd always wanted one. I had models of them when I was little and a father who was a Marine and always dreamed of having one or an M37 Power Wagon. Dad never did get either so he's living vicariously...
