    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

I put the manifold in a few hours ago actually, will be bolting it and dealing with all the tangential stuff another day. It sticks out like a sore thumb with the new paint job heh. You may be able to get an idea of the clearance from these pics, but I’d have to confirm once it’s permanently...

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

Yep! This is the link to the set of injector line sockets in my pic: DPTOOL 12pt 1/2" Dr L-Type Diesel Injector Line Socket Wrench Set 12 14 16 17 18 19mm (6PCS) https://a.co/d/3TpLeLa It’s el-cheapo Amazon grade but did the job. For the $30 some bucks, it saved me from inventing a few new...

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

Status Update: She runs and growls! - I put the pump back in, I have to thank @HoveringHMMWV for the injector line socket recommendation. Putting the lines back was a breeze compared to taking them off with crows foot wrenches. NOTE: I had a hard time finding a 5/8 injector line socket, use a...

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

Thanks for confirming RWH, and yep @Maxjeep1 I’ve got the rubber cover, but I wasn’t planning on moving it over to the new pump. Seems like a rest haven for moisture and corrosion to me at least.

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

New pump came in from Mac Motors, looks phenomenal. Pretty pics attached. I’m still trying to scrape off as much old gasket from the intakes as possible, although it’s a real pain to do some of the tight spots. I’ve read that as long as it’s mostly flat, it should be fine as the gasket will...

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

I concur with these findings per the TM, although when I pulled a few of my studs/bolts, they had a silicone-type sealant on them it seemed. I also recall another member mentioning it somewhere else. I suppose it might not really matter heh

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

Alright so a few exciting things. - 5149 pump from Mac Motors comes in today, price was more than I wanted to pay, but I said screw it and I'll just take the peace of mind. Ordering and shipment were incredibly quick and easy though, super helpful over the phone - Intake manifold has been...

    Current EUC Wait Time

Actually forgot an important detail, it's 30-60 business days, not regular days. I'm only 30-some days into their estimated time in that case.

    Current EUC Wait Time

Sounds like we're hitting record times on the EUCs, SF97s still seem to be another case. Submitted mine on June 21st, so it's still within their "30-60 day" SF97 processing timeline.

So as a general question on the wiring in these trucks. I’ve noticed that some connections are indicated as being polarized, as one rubber boot connector will be smooth and round, while the other connector will have small dashes around it. Does this generally mean that connections having 2...

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

Yep planning on cleaning up the gasket areas on the intakes and then painting the valley black as well. Need to see if I can find the drain hole that melton plugged. I’ll check out the HPG pump and see what they say as well on Monday. Are the turbo pumps usually more expensive? On another...

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

Thanks! Don’t know how I want to tackle the intakes on the engine yet, maybe I’ll run a vacuum as I’m scraping. I’ve got it stuffed with rags but it’s not perfect. As for the pump from HPG. I looked at their site and it was all more expensive than what mac quoted me. Do you know the exact...

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

Alright so given what I’ve been informed with: 1 - Rerouted the old pump shipment to come back to me, suppose I can keep / part out whatever remaining parts are good on it 2 - Called mac motors regarding their reman 5149 pumps. If this is what’s recommended, I’ll go with it and just cry once...

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

@Retiredwarhorses I just sent it off yesterday, too late now I guess. Any major things I should look for once I get it back then? I can post my experience here for others to learn from worst case.

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

Got the pump out yesterday, looks pretty nasty. Going with DCP for the rebuild, will let everyone know how it goes. Pics attached. When I pulled the pump out, the little plunger looking thing with the spring on it fell on the floor. Picture named "IMG_6814". I don't know if that's the only...

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

I've actually seen those discs, I think I have one somewhere. My only concern is getting small particulates inside the intake holes, I've got them plugged up with shop towels at least. Will try a few things and see how they go. Going to try to get as much done in this area while everything is...

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

Erm that may be the wrong term on my part. I'm talking about the face of the intake ports where the gasket sits between intake manifold and engine. Basically there's still paper baked onto there, pic attached.

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

The manifold I yanked was the intake manifold that sits on top, otherwise you can't remove the pump. My engine is in fact a Melton re-man, so I will dig around with a pick and see what if I can find it. Thanks for the pointer :P

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

On another note, I started the wonderful process of removing the injection pump last night. Will hopefully have it done today so I can finally send it off (honestly not sure if the housing is even still rebuildable). Basic steps I've taken so far: 1: Remove the main air intake tubes 2: Remove...

    GovPlanet Humvee Arrival and Inspection

I actually have no idea yet. I was planning on fabricating an assembly for a double-din head unit to mount onto the radio tray, then the audio would feed off that. That's a little ways off though, that Sound Extreme box actually looks pretty good if I wanted to just get audio going now lol. The...
