looking to get my first Deuce

I'm 6'4" and have no problems with hitting the roof. Most parts are readily avail. There are many surplus distributors that specialize in this. Saturn Surplus, Memphis, Eastern, OD Iron, Erik's Military Surplus, CCEquipment, just to name a few. And there is always the dreaded eBay.They might...

    1100 Mile Recovery/First Deuce

I spend my week driving a Freightliner business class FL50 around between job sites not a leather seated Chevy, not much more padding than the deuce. Maybe I spend too much time working and don't spend enough time on my A$$ so it's not as tough as yours:wink: I love driving my deuce, but I'm...

    daily driver

Do it. I drive mine to and from work quite a bit(13 miles one way) stop signs and lights for half of it. I have no problem getting moving. Still faster than most people in my area drive. I find myself waiting on them more than the other way around. The only people you have to worry about are the...

    395/85/20 Tires installed

Preacherboy, sounds like some good hunting. I didn't have the patiences to search. The offer on the shop is open to anyone in the area. Always willing to help a fellow MVer out. I could even bring the service truck to your place or whatever, it has cutting torches, welder, impact, hand tools...

    395/85/20 Tires installed

Tuff-Truck-Guy, Nothing significant no. It accels off the line a little slower. But it still moves good for a 13000lb truck. It is definetly worth anything I MIGHT have lost in acceleration for what was gained in cruising speed and lower rpms.

    395/85/20 Tires installed

Preacherboy. That was me. My shop is in Holly and I live in Argentine. Drive it back and forth to work a lot. It would be sweet to see 2 deuces in the area. PM me when you get it and maybe we can get together. I have a shop with overhead cranes, welders, sand blaster, lathe, bridgeport etc. and...

    Common Oil Pressure?

I have a 60psi gauge. It only shows a little over 30psi at speed and around 12-15 after it warms up at idle(30psi when cold). Have not verified with a known good gauge yet, I will be doing that this week.

Thanks ALFA2 and Bigtoyman. I will look into it. easy enough to add 10mph to speedo, but I'd still like it to read right.

    Dovetail deuce!!!

That could come in handy, but looks like a lot of weight hanging out back. Might make turning the wheel easier though:razz:
