Drained some fuel out today and the gauge still didn't move, checked the ground and it seems good. Took all the wires off the gauge and it still pegged on full, can I disassemble the gauge to see if it is stuck or is it sealed?
My needle never moves off of full, power or not, I have kept the tank full so I'm going to drain some out today. I just did the well nut and cleaned the tank so I know the float is't stuck.
This seems obvious to me but I may be wrong. My 803 fuel gauge shows full all the time with power and when the unit is off. It does move at all anytime. To me that seems like a bad gauge. What do you think?
Well I installed the bulkhead fitting on my 803, the 802's are a little different so here's what I did. It took me about 3 hours but I'm slow. I'll tackle the one on top of the tank later
Ok now its making sense, thanks for the help! I think it would be pretty hard for the 803 well nut to leak being on top of the tank, is it worth messing with it?
Finally got a chance to start on this well nut fix but I can't seem to find out where it is, do I have to remove the whole tank? I do see a well nut fitting on top of the tank but that shouldn't leak. After looking at some pictures on some post here I found a similar place on my 803 but there is...
What got me started on this was his post #12, it led me to believe I need to get that fitting. I got the bulkhead fitting in today just want to get all the parts before I start. I did find out that there is no -5AN fitting
I want to do this fix so I am collecting the parts, what fitting do I need to go to the bulkhead fitting? If I am reading this right I need a 1/4 inch npt male to a 5 AN male fitting, is this correct?
I love bullet proofing my 803!!!
Thx
Thanks for the replies, We had to leave because of the potential of having 9 feet more water than last year. The river didn't get as high as expected but the roads are closed back to the house probably till Monday. We went to my mom's house and never lost power, funny how that works when you buy...
Looks like I'm going to get to use my 803 for the hurricane, my question is if I run it out of fuel by mistake will it self prime and restart? Or is there something I need to do to get it running again?
Well my wife picked up 2 qts. of flat latex paint from Walmart. I had them use the competitor lookup for Federal Standard green, worked out perfect all for 10 bucks.
thanks to everyone here fro the help!
