I'm glad no-one on SS blew a gasket or came un-hitched with this storm. :-) I know some slippery slopes have been navigated on the forum and on driveways.
I doubt you really had to take off your hitch to blow through snow drifts. Those sweet 24 bolt rims will get you through twice as much snow as other trucks.
I installed new bolts (from Menards) for the brush guard. They required trimming but have a shoulder that is the full width needed to support the guard.
Also there are a couple pics of the dimensions of the locking pins I have.
grrrrr - Managed to have the cab air blower seize up on me yesterday as I was 20 minutes from home and it was 2F out. Good thing I was in it when that happened, vs it idling as I was in a store, as there was massive draw on the electrical system and the beginnings of a meltdown. Looks like...
I will clarify that the pressure is 30-60 when "warm".
I am a new owner and can testify that when it's 20F out, start + go 45-50 mph, you will get 120+ PSI. But nowhere near burst pressure. Once I had gone a few miles, let her idle while in Menards as I purchased new bolts for the brush guard...
That reminds me of the time I was not taking it slow and steady getting the go pro ready for a dive. I was more concerned about not sticking myself or anyone else with a pole spear. I noticed as I hit maybe 6 feet down the camera housing started filling with saltwater thanks to a little thread...
Now that my girl was not parked in the shop by the owners 5-ton for the weekend, she sat out all day.
I went out and fired her up after work. The volt meter was in the high yellow sitting in the cool weather all day when I cranked her up. I held the starter for about 7 seconds and then let her...
I replaced the diff and t-case fluids today. Then with the assistance of a pro - changed the belts. tightened the power steering low pressure line nut and the hose clamp on the tube. That brings my baby to 90% in my opinion. Of course the last bits are the toughest.
So if I shut the doors really hard they get to the second latching point. But the drivers side lock finger hits the lower area where the data plate is and MWOs hang.
I'll grab a pic tomorrow when I work on sealing between the bed and the rear divider. Gotta keep snow and water from where I...
I would start with googling for the document hummer_h1_manuel_utilisateur.pdf, then hit section 7-8.
There is also the document hmmwv_test-diagnostics.pdf section 9-1.
Yesterday I installed a fording stack and "4720011945338 - HOSE,PREFORMED".
I removed the vertical duckbill section of the air cleaner cap's shield assembly off of the shield and trimmed the lip off so the fording stack would fit through with some clearance.
It was necessary to use a press to...
I've got a fording stack and elbow for sealing the stack from the first air box to air filter that I'm going to add. No full fording kit for me. Just change fluids if water gets in anything.
I have pulled the plywood section from the bed of my 2door. Thats garbage.... The plywood from the cab...
I think patience is needed on the request for pictures of mods. The bulk of HMMWVs are only arriving in the hands of people and like me they are just starting to get them in good running condition.
I think a better request/question is: What are you planning to modify/do with your new toy?
For...
It does look normal. When moving mine yesterday I had it running a bit longer and that behavior of the plugs cycling stopped. It was about 45 degrees out when I did that and I had it run for about 5 minutes.
