    Beadlock blocks valve stem?

I think @Mullaney might have a hint about that. When I was doing my wheels I think he remarked how stuck the clamp ring studs are in the rim...

    Beadlock blocks valve stem?

What do the inserts look like? The ones I reused on my M35A3's wheels had about a single 1.5" wide groove on the inside surface with a hole with a brass sleeve in the groove roughly aligned with the turret valve on the rim:

    Got my m246a1 (reaper) home!

That's pretty cool! I wouldn't mind an older 5-ton modified like that.

    High A3 prices?

I've seen people asking between $8k and $12k for M35A3s on Facebook, complete with the cargo bed or as a chassis. These trucks were in driveable condition. I feel like the M35A3 is the closest thing to buying an MTV without buying an MTV, creature comforts notwithstanding. (My wife still...

    My first multifuel?

I attached the lube order for your truck. According to page 2, the multifuel takes OE/HDO 30, which I think is 30 wt. Others can probably give you better guidance.

Is it true of all the slews of bugs that the deuce has?

It's my understanding that the problem with the AT1545 on the M35A3 is that it wasn't really designed for the loads the truck was designed to operate with. The GVWR of the truck is around 19000 lbs, going up to about 25000 lbs GCWR. The truck's GCWR is actually a little over the AT1545's load...

Is it true of all the slews of bugs that the deuce has?

The main weakness I've read about the M939 trucks involves low range and reverse gear - just don't give it too much gas pedal :poop: Also it seems the fuel shutoff solenoid likes to stick closed. I think the Cat 3116 is a good motor. It has seen wide application from 150 to around 700...

Is it true of all the slews of bugs that the deuce has?

Yeah, there's mention about it in the LO, the TM, and some posts here about maintaining it. My understanding is that you can go a few thousand miles between PMCS with it though, like everything else on the truck (the LO says to check bearing nut tightness and lubricate every 3000 miles). I...

Is it true of all the slews of bugs that the deuce has?

One of the things I want to check on my truck sometime soon is the rear suspension spring seat. I've seen horror stories on here about that spring seat bearing getting out of adjustment and stripping the threads right off it. A good chunk of the rear end has to come apart to pull that piece...

    M54 5-Ton Market Vallue

That's a great-looking 5-ton  I hope you find it a nice home! That said, I've seen drivable M54 trucks go for between $5k and $15k. I agree with @98G that this truck would probably be near the top end of what I've seen considering its condition.

Newbie here looking at a 1970 M35A2 have some questions

I remember looking at that listing. That seemed like a nice truck! I wish I could've put an offer on it but my wife needs another minivan more  Though she likes trucks painted in desert tan!

oil coming out off the hollow stud

When I did my tire replacement I discovered gear oil leaking from three of my rear axle hollow studs. I plan on doing the seals this spring, but I'm wondering now: could a malfunctioning CTIS power manifold cause blown seals? The CTIS ECU on my truck doesn't turn on and the wheel valves are...

    M35A3 CTIS Manifold PSI

Maybe there's too much moisture in the system and it's freezing the air pressure sensor in the manifold? Maybe the air dryer needs to be serviced. Just a guess - I've never had mine apart as I've removed all the CTIS wheel valves from my truck and the system ECU never worked for me.

Nice project! I never realized how much the MTVR dwarfs a commercial tractor cab o_O

New to me M35A3, suggestions needed

I took a closer look at the rim. I think that would go on an older 5-ton since it only has ten clamp ring studs on it - probably came off an M939A1 or A2. I think the FMTV wheels have 20 studs. Looks like you have NDT, Michelin XML, and XL tires there.

New to me M35A3, suggestions needed

The one wheel looks like it goes to a 5-ton or FMTV - ten stud holes there. Three kinds of tires there too anyway.

    Title discrepancy? Or confusion?

They need to realize that "zero" is a digit and add them to the VIN  I think that's what NY DMV does in their computers for older vehicles.

Question about Removing CTIS valves and balancing weights from tires

I appreciate your attention to historical detail! I wanted to maintain the CTIS on my truck for the same reason, but I don't have the time or budget to keep it up. Good luck with your project :)
