I have spent time in Oahu on a work projects and can tell you rust is a huge issue on the islands. I would be extremely cautious buying a vechicle from there. Absolutely beautiful place but like everywhere it has issues.

I love the old G-Wagons and I think the best is the 300D with a stick. Not a lot of power but it will sure get you there and it's extremely reliable. My buddies Pinzgauer 712M only has a 90hp gas engine but even towing my M101A1 filled with hunting gear and five guys in the truck it does just...
Art bell was the best to help keep you awake on the long overnight drives. He had a great show and everything was 100% real and sometimes extremely frightening. Many good pairs of pants had to be thrown out because of him. lol

At least the HMMWVs have a lot of protection from bio hazzards. With their hermetically sealed doors and bio filtered vents we can feel secure. Only problem I've found as you need to crack a window or the air starts to run out.
That also crossed my mind but would have to wonder if that small dump valve (high rpm) would pull enough pressure for the IP not to function. I think it may possibly slow down the runaway a small degree but not stop it.
Since more than likely you would be driving the truck when this IP...
I use the Big Buddy 9000btu propane heater for my car trailer. I love this little thing. Will run on low for 6 hrs and 3 1/2 on high. It uses one pound propane bottles or can be made to run off a 20lb tank. My buddy has one to heat up the cargo area of a Pinzgauer 712M and it works great...
So it pinches the hose to close it off. Yeah that would work but the cost is high. But it would work as a imobilazer and a emergency fuel cut off.

How about a 1/2" 24v fuel cutoff solenoid after the fuel filter. Normally open and closed by am emergency switch. That will shut her down fast. Just a thought.

Not for anything but you should load test those batteries.. Unless one has a so so connection they should be at the same voltage.
Any idea how old the batteries are? Fully charged with a small load they should settle and hang at 12.5-12.6. You can get a slight over top charge after a recent...
I would put a volt meter on the batteries and test it all out. I don't notice any real difference on mine when putting loads on the system. Our gauges are not accurate at all so confirm with a meter.

The IRIS inverter is a great pure sign wave setup. Will run 1800w continuously and spike much higher. I have the whole Iris setup new in the box with the slave plug in a pelican case for my HMMWV. It's a very high quality setup used in the HMMWV radio trucks.

He has a vent high up on the roof peak so with the genset is running and that exhaust system is running it moves a buttload of air into the room and the exhaust system pushes out. He has a CO detector and he also has a CO handheld detector with a digital readout and it's nothing.
The drum is...
MEP831A generator. 30 gal fuel drum, Iris 24v 1800w inverter. 200ah battery backup and next is 400w solar system. He is also installing power and communication underground cables to run to the house for 220v transfer.
