Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2016 - December VOTE HERE!

Awesome, Campaign time! I'd like for my truck to win because it brought my brother and I so much closer when I got it. Fast forward a few years and I almost lost him to leukemia earlier this year. He's still with us by the Grace of God but it's been a rough few months. We look forward to...

    Needed assistance with lmtv

I'm not as familiar with the earlier LMTV's but that is the warning light for engine temperature high on the later ones. Your gauge indicates less than 220 so you should be good to drive on. To the best of my recollection, you have a sensor for the gauge and a sensor for the warning monitor.

    Needed assistance with lmtv

I just researched this briefly so it may not apply to your truck. If I read correctly, you should be getting a second code after the 13. Either way, it appears to be concerned with input voltage to the trans controller being too high or too low depending on the follow on code. Go to this link...

    Breaking Spring Brake tubes

Your current support loops look exactly like what CSM Davis posted and what I looked at on my truck earlier. The A2's certainly have a different looking bracket and it may be stronger. I have never seen a sheared wedge brake apply tube until now so I'm confused. The fronts have no bracket as...

M925A2 Cold Start Test and Result, -11F (Michigan 1/6/14), Cummins 8.3L

My old nifty 250 starts just fine without ether on these frigid southwest Georgia days. About 2 seconds of cranking in the mid 40's this time of year. The ether start is enabled and the coldest day last year was around 17 degrees. It took about 4 seconds to start as you cannot push the ether...

2016 Leesburg, Ga Spirit of Christmas Parade

A few pictures of the convoy in the Parade posted on the Leesburg Chamber of Commerce. Somehow they are in reverse order, the convoy was lined up from smallest to largest!

Nevada - 5 ton's license plates pulled by DMV

I got hit on this when I registered my 5 ton in Georgia. Weighted plates due weighing over 10,000 pounds even though it's for non-commercial use. Like stated before, it varies from state to state or county tag office from one to another. I know of others in Georgia who still have regular...

2016 Leesburg, Ga Spirit of Christmas Parade

Good turnout today! Pictured are 6 of the 7 trucks that participated. My better half was busy with our boy's so I could hang out with my friends. I have an old dumb flip phone so we don't have many pictures to add. I want to say Thanks to members Welder1, Godawgsdv8, Atomic, Izzug, and...

December 2016 MV of the Month Nominations

My Deuce and a Half! Not much of a picture at first glance but quite a few on here know the story of the people in the picture! I'm happy to announce that the man in the left side of the picture is still with us, I'll campaign later!

LMTV FMTV CAT3116 Engine Front Cover Failure & Cause

Once the newer trucks get released with the C7 Cat, another failure point will be noted. There is lack of loctite or proper torque on the air compressor driving gear nut. It doesn't harm the cover but the truck will not build air or have power steering when it happens. Either way, it involves...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2016 - November VOTE HERE!

Chase, I see the problem! As the only member who has had a CUCV win the MV of the Month competition, I will add these pictures! I think I won because I have a very nice truck and he finally got voted on pretty steadily. If you read through the thread, 2015 May Win, you will see that pictures...

    Ether can for M939 trucks?

Those looking for the temp switch need to follow the line coming from the bottom of the either solenoid, you'll find it threaded into a water jacket. The solenoid will activate at any temperature but the valve will keep it from injecting into the intake manifold above certain temps.

2016 Leesburg, Ga Spirit of Christmas Parade

Just a slight update, list was turned into the office yesterday. Pictures will follow on December 3rd after the Parade and a good lunch! The M1028 may get pulled from the list as it looks like we may have a slight crowd that will want to eat and lunch needs to be ready at the house. I've...

Cucv m1010 resistors check and replace / bypass?

I'll just post my personal experience and let it get analysed by people smarter than myself. A few years ago, I left my truck at an event that allowed kids to climb around, flip switches and whatever else. The M1028 cranked up fine and drove home. 2 weeks later, the front battery was dead...

What have you done WITH your wrecker this week?

It's like a dream! I never had an M984E1, I did have an M984A2 previously but basically the same truck. Angry Detroit 2 stroke 8V92, Allison Transmission, No A/C, Good Times! As for an M984A4, CAT C15, Allison Trans, much more torque, A/C, and doesn't even notice a 23,000 pound LMTV behind...

    Big thanks to Suprman

Suprman is great to deal with. He sent me an air dryer for my truck when it needed it before I could even get a check mailed to him. First check somehow never showed up but that's good ole' USPS efficiency. Second one arrived and cleared. He also gave me some great advice today regarding...

    Tire swap

Bryan, Just out of curiosity, are the 395's on wheels already or will the person have to remove the 14's from the current wheels and remount the 395's? I'm not in the market but that would be my question if I were considering this. Joseph

November 2016 MV of the Month Nominations

Wait a minute!!! That thing came from Canada to the GA Rally! We are sunk as that was an impressive rig that had made by all means an impressive trip down! I'm not conceding my nomination but I know what I'm voting for! There are plenty of pictures of that truck on the picture thread from...

2016 Leesburg, Ga Spirit of Christmas Parade

Looks like I've got quite a line up so far but I'm always looking for more. 1985 M1028 CUCV "Sarge" - owner sandcobra164 1972 M35A2 Deuce "Frankenstein" - owner GoDawgsDV8 1974 M35A2 Deuce "Arabella" - owner Atomic but likely driven by Riddle1 "Wildcard truck, depends on owner and driver...
