    My first MV

I think you need to get the Deuce dyno-tested to sort out the 4hp - 134hp - 167hp mystery! ;-) There is a chance it makes a full 80hp at the wheels! It is a good surprise to find out that they dropped a late production multi into the truck. Have you checked the transmission, too? Maybe it was a...

Snatch Land Rovers in the U.S. ??

Is that an early one with the V8 or the 300Tdi?

    m35a2 driver seat

The full seat may be a bit optimistic for the Deuce cabin size but if it fits, your posterior will thank you. I used a civilian air ride base with a military seat (Humvee) on top of it. You can see it here: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/air-ride-seat-installed.170676/ Don't talk about...

    Removing CARC paint from tire

A military vehicle without paint overspray on the tires can't possibly be a real military vehicle! Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

North Texas Recovery. Wish me luck.

Haifisch, from what you wrote, I have a diagnosis for you: you, sir, are now infected with the Green Disease. Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

North Texas Recovery. Wish me luck.

No hanger bearing on your truck, Haifisch, your driveshafts are too short. Plenty of places for metal-on-metal rubbing sounds, from the hood not having the leather strips in front so it rests on the metal grille, engine side panels not having the rubber stops and chafing and rattling as a...

North Texas Recovery. Wish me luck.

People are People and that guy with the 5ton apparently really needed your batteries, badly. I hope your new ones will last a long time and the ones in the 5ton might go dead anytime.... Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

North Texas Recovery. Wish me luck.

I would say that road-tripping a Deuce on 9.00-20 requires a special form of self-hate. I have done it and really appreciate the taller 11.00R20. You'd think it is not "much of a difference", but, yes, it is! I highly recommend doing what the military ended up doing with many of the Deuces, and...

NDTs on front and super singles in the rear

What @HDN said ! There are likely layers and layers of paint on those threads. It still is a good workout for a 3/4 impact wrench. I also recommend new 20 inch o-rings and coating them in vaseline or white grease before installing. It is frustrating to put it all together, tire and all, only...

Will start only with a squirt of starting fluid. Runs great once started.

Methinks that, if the engine started fine beforehand and the HH was not messed with, it is unlikely that, all of a sudden, the HH is no longer producing enough pressure. I think "HH wear" is a bit of a red herring at this point. If there is no crud in the set screw seat I don't know if I would...

    Tie Rod End Removal

Waiting for the report back that violence and raw aggression fixed the problem!

@7Dust for what it is worth, my in-tank pump cranks out about 7-9 psi. Not that it would make much of a difference, as long as it moves fuel.

    Oil Leak Around Oil Filter

I had a pesky oil leak where the spin on adapter meets the block. Only torquing the retaining nut way above the specs fixed that. I have a spin on filter that leaks unless it is torqued ape-tight. the second one is fine. Go figure.

    Mlvw finally acquired

I am only mildly jealous! No MLVWs here in Ottawa.....well.....none that are buy-able.

    This one followed me home

How should I do this? Rear trailing arm

Good effort! I nevertheless echo what was said before.....consider replacing the inserts. The consequences of a dog bone falling off while on the highway and the axle tilting, potentially shearing a U-joint etc. are likely ingredients for a bad day. I decided to feel the pain only once, took a...
