Looks like a doorbell transformer. Those put out 24 volts, but it’s AC. Can’t use it to charge batteries. I personally would pitch it and install a new maintaner.
I am pretty sure all civilian 3/4 ton trucks and the M880 series all had Dana 60 rear axles. What I found out the hard way is that the wheel ends are different between 1976 and 1977.
Data plate looks legitimate, I suspect you have a truck that the Navy bought after M880 production ended in 1978, and since it was equipped just like a M880, Chrysler stamped that on the data plate. M880s were 1.25 ton rated, even though they were 3/4 ton trucks in civilian trim.
Oh you would be amazed at the test requirements that each truck had to go though at Sealy. The QC guy told me there could be no drips or leaks of any type after the test course was run.
This video kinda justifies why the FMTVs came with the reduction hubs originally. I doubt the truck could climb those grades with 5000 lbs onboard and towing a loaded M1082 with ECOs.

Welcome. Those are great RT forklifts, the Army seems to have bought a huge number of them and they got very little use. Post up parts sources as you find them, not exactly sure what all happened with Hough/International/Dresser over the years.
