Ok so by bad you mean rough riding unloaded. Yeah it does seem the hubs are bolted to the frame on both trucks when unloaded. Both ride ok with the S250 and all the GMV crap bolted back on.
Welcome! Looks like they all did coming off DRMO back in the day. Plenty of forklift kisses and mop applied tan CARC paint for the first Gulf war. The SECM (Shop Equipment Contact Maintenace) box probably got pulled to put on a M1031 Chevy CUCV, or possibly the last owner needed some beer...
Like most things specops, the GMVs were non standard custom built creations over the years, probably no more that 200 per era were made (my guess). Lots of pictures by Google search. The “hummerkings” creations don’t count.
Folks come on here all the time with the issue of “my HMMWV won’t move” and more often than not, it’s CV shaft related. Didn’t know you already checked those.
