If you really can't find a TC PTO anywhere in your part of the world... let me know.

Stripped pto gear in spicer 3053 again! Now what

Guess you misread what I posted from the TM(?) The transmission-PTO (WND-7-28 ) is only 27Hp @ 1000rpm while the transfer case-PTO (P-136-C) delivers full engine Hp.

    Front Axle Rebuild

Why so? Since you already started a new thread, keep it all here; this is- or will be- your rebuild process. That other one was how to get her home and that's done.

    Front Axle Rebuild

I can't see any rust... :? The pinion should have no play at all.

    Transfer case question

On the earlier trucks with the T136-21 "sprag" transfer case, that rod controls the forward-reverse shift shaft of the TC sprag unit. It has no use on later models with the T136-27 "air shift" TC.

    Transfer case question

Especially check for any radial play of the input shaft. The bearings on that shaft are all ball bearings, so there's no possible adjustment. The slightest play (radially) indicates that those bearings are ready for retirement... And once you have it all drained, don't be afraid of sticking your...

M1070(HET) Tractors What are second lives/uses????

Thanks Frank. Nothing new there for me, really; I've read that exact info many times already and it doesn't help me much. Our (hyper-bureaucratic banana republic)-DOT wants to see a "Certificación" - for the ability to pull up to 200 tons, on-road...(!) No such certificate - no permit...!:-x...

M1070(HET) Tractors What are second lives/uses????

Time to resurrect this great thread....! This video shows some good pulling action and 168 wheels turning (if I counted correctly)... This is one of the only two HET's that ever came to this country. I brought them for a customer and friend of mine, back in 2013 - certainly not for show and...

    Tranny inspect

That large gear isn't overly expensive, if you wanted a NOS replacement - for peace of mind, here... And yes, it can be changed with the transmission in place. What you really should do is drain that thing, take a flashlight and inspect both of the small gears, countershaft and idler gear, also.

    1984 CUCV question?

Moved and remaining unlocked - unless this turns into a for-Sale ad.

Dana Diagnostic tool for Cummins 8.3L engine?

Mod. note: Both posts now moved to a new thread in the subforum M939 series 5-ton trucks.

    M998 Turbo Upgrade - BMI Commander™ 6500 Turbo Kit

Ha.... learned that lesson, about 20 years ago. 6.2L + turbo + large IC: hitting the accelerator out of idle one could see the flexible pipe couplings wanting to collapse, instead of blow(!) And of course there was that momentary black cloud, every time...

Edited title and moved to "Upcoming Events".

Torque rod stud doesn't fit all the way into new rear trunnion opening

Most likely, yes... but not for free. It's a heavy, bulky part and they need to have the correct size tapered reamer.

24 bolt wheels with BFG Bajas - Runflat or No Runflat

It does not...! The powder (beads, pellets, etc.) would stick to the RF-lubricant and make a big mess. The military uses external, stick-on lead weights on these.
