That’s what I’m doing as well, RV ISO on the truck, with another ISO for a trailer workshop. I would love to have a 40’ ISO for the workshop, but not sure if I could do that with the roads I’d want to travel.
Feels like it’s been forever since I’ve updated this thread so I thought I’d catch up. The engine rebuild is still moving forward, but it is consuming all of my spare money so I haven’t done anything really new on the ISO or it’s frame. Even though I have all the parts for the frame I don’t have...
Ok, I got the #5 & #6 liners out as well as all of the pistons. The #5 #6 pistons are junk, and #3 might be as well. I didn’t get out and work on the engine today since the rain showed up and hasn’t gone away yet. I also borrowed a cylinder honing tool from the neighbor and I’ll put new...
Just a thought, but check out my plans for mine. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?168248-M934a2-bhtrv
I haven’t updated it lately even though I’ve done a few things. But my recent though is that while I build my chassis for the ISO I’ll include a floor in it so that I can still use...
Take your sending unit out and dip it in some vinegar for a few hours. Unless you have another issue, like a sinking vs a floating float or the gauge itself, that’ll fix it most of the time. Corrosion builds up on the resistive contacts inside the sender and renders it useless. While you have it...
Well the air hammer idea didn’t work, it didn’t even budge the #1 or #2 liner with full pressure in the tank. I think I may have to go back to my original plan of a threaded rod since I just don’t have enough area for a good solid swing, especially on #3 where the front diff is in the way...
Ok, it’s been a bit but things have progressed at least. Other than waiting on fastenal for a shipping authorization everything for the head have been worked out between me and the seller.
Started pulling the pistons yesterday. Got all the rod caps removed and marked for locations. Got the #2...
If I remember right, 98G or CSM Davis said mine was a RRAD too, makes me wonder if that’s why I’m having so many issues with my engine.
make sure to check your fuel line right at the elbow where it goes into the tank if it is still the OE copper line. Mine was cracked and left me stranded out...
This guy is really starting to irritate me. Slow as molasses to respond by text and never answers the phone. Been almost 2 weeks since he sent a text with the picture of the head off the engine and ready to ship, but hanvent received a weight or dimensions for any crating he will use to send it...
Soon as I get my truck fixed we could crawl some rocks together. Might find me some good spot to prospect for gold at the same time lol
Come out here for a trip, we could plan it for a weekend you could make it.
