I have repaired a glow plug card my transistor failed when I connected it to a starter relay (ballast resistor bypass terminal) instead of the proper isolated ground relay.
A resistor doesn't normally fail. This one was likely connected in short circuit. It's possible replacing the resistor...
New the trucks came with DOT 5. What is in it today is anybody's guess. I would personally start fresh. Rebuild master. Replace the rear wheel cylinders. Replace all rubber lines. Blow out metal lines with compressed air. Rebuild front calipers.
If you trust yourself to rebuild the master and...
Pull the drums and make sure they're not grooved. Disassemble and clean the adjusters. Replace the wheel cylinders (It's impossible to get water out of DOT 5 systems).
I spent some time shipping vehicles to and from Hawaii. It was $1000 to ship a car. We despised HMMWVs because they tended to catch on fire more than other vehicles.
I have received the newest generation of MLS gaskets. They have embossing around every coolant passage and bolt hole.
I also used ARP studs but I'm not sold on the advantages vs TTY bolts.
Ball valves do not tolerate frequent opening and closing. The wipers wear out and manufacturers don't put much effort into the stem seals because the wipers wear out regardless.
Be mindful of materials used in your solenoid valve. Buna-N diaphragms have a similar life expectancy to your lift...
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I've had my throttle cable break on an uphill and blind turn on a mountain highway. Truck stopped and I could hear traffic skidding behind me. It took a minute or two but I realized if I shut the engine off I could put it in 4 low without locking the hubs...
That's going to make a lot of racket when those two brackets come together. The springs need to sandwich one bracket, you have them sandwiching both.
Springs or rubber, you're going to need to calculate a weight for the box if you want to suspend it properly. Bolts or shims can be used to...
I'm guessing that you don't want to use anything water based as it will be very corrosive to the rim. You could mix the water with corrosion inhibitors. Seeing the price per oz, the Hutchinson formula is likely silicone based.
Another tach option is that if you're building an engine get a 6.5 timing cover and tone ring. It's 4 pulse per rev so it should work with any v8 tach. This also lets you run a 6.5 vibration damper.
In my fleet I run 25 amp float only chargers on 8D batteries (currently downsizing to group 31) for engine starting an ECM power. As long as you are not starting frequently you don't need much charger to keep a battery charged. Even a Caterpillar 3500 series engine with electronic injectors only...
The current in the stator creates a magnetic field that opposes the field from the rotor. If you put a fixed voltage into the rotor field, as the stator field increases the field current decreases and the stator output voltage decreases. Capping the output voltage from the regulator to the field...
I'm late to the thread and don't know if this has been covered but electrolytic capacitors don't tolerate long term storage. When de-energized the insulating oxides inside break down and cause the capacitor to short circuit internally. The general rule of thumb is that electrolytic capacitors...
Phillips has LED H6054 framed lights that are DOT approved.

Truck-Lite uses some weasel words in...
If you have algae it means you have water. Good luck getting the water out without a bottom drain. The additives don't make more algae. They simply don't get rid of what is already there. The algae lives at the interface of water and fuel in a very thin layer. There isn't much of it because the...
