The noise, amp draw, as well as the fuel consumption were reasons for myself.

Saw This on a Diesel Heater Forum

I tried messing with the original heater for a while in the M1010. It was way overkill for camping and I was just curious in getting it running. I finally gave up when it peed diesel everywhere. M1010 Alternator

The Prestolite A0012800LC looks to be a self exciting alternator. It does not need a signal/ switch to get it to charge. https://www.filterspro.com/PRESTOLITE-LEECE-NEVILLE-A0012800LCBRALTERNATOR-14V-160A_p_742256.html With my truck running 13.8v on the front battery and 28v on the rear...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2022 - November VOTE HERE!

I wouldn't worry about the M1010.... It was built for a purpose and not the purist which I'm fine with. Just threw it in for fun... :driver:

After a couple of recent road trips going to try working on communication. Picked these Sena SPH10’s up off of all places Craigslist after looking at several intercom options. They connect to each other through Bluetooth, up to 4 can be connected together. We’ll see how they do… 🇺🇸🇺🇸🥓🥓🥃🥃 #M1010...

M1009 rims - upping the size from stock?

If your looking at 33's but don't want the 12.5 width you can consider alternative sizes... 16" rims - 255/85/16 17" rims - 255/80/17

    CUCV M1008 Rag Joint Replacement

Just a suggestion... although the ragjoint has worked for many years. I do consider it an upgrade that helps the steering on these old trucks. YMMV... Crown Automotive Steering Shafts 4713943 https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/another-m1010-owner.180524/post-2188773
