Could you post a picture of the end of the big connector or tell me how many pins it has? It looks like those are called Amphenol connectors and readily available!
Thank you for the info! The length of that will help me figure out how much wire to order. I plan on doing one harness at a time...
Could you measure the length of that harness and let me know? I am going to build my own, but don't want to pull the old one out of my truck just yet.
How much did you end up paying for that if you don't mind saying?
Progress is slow due to starter issues. I pulled the 2 off my parts trucks. One looked good but turns very slow and gets hot. It looks clean inside. The other is just plain nasty and probably not salvageable.
If time allows, tomorrow I will take the nicer two to a local starter shop to see...
No sir. The deflector pieces for the defrost I was talking about are mounted on top of the dash and direct heat toward the windshield. You can kind of see them in this pic.
Not a whole lot of progress on this truck lately, due to work schedule and weather not cooperating, but I am looking at putting a heater in it at some point and found this.
It is a driver side mounted heater in an old parts M35. None of the cab interior heater parts are in the truck, so would...
I'm not sure where the oil leak was coming from but hope to find out soon. So far I have not located any rebuild tags on the truck, so maybe 65k is the true mileage on everything. Surely a transmission replacement would have happened at some point.
Here soon, the starter might be headed up to...
I suppose it is time for my other M135 to have its own thread. I have owned this truck (#4984) since early 2006, but have never done much with it. In April 2016, OkieM1008morrison and I hauled it 375 miles back to where I live now. Here is the truck.
The truck went from the Army to the Kansas...
I agree with the guys here. You have come too far to stop now. These trucks are a real joy to drive and they always get a lot of attention on the road. My M135 is the only one running in my area that I have seen and that a lot of the other collectors in the area have seen.
Check out my Youtube...
Another thought.....I have seen mentioned where guys have used the bell housing off of an old CCKW to bolt onto the 302 to convert to standard. Surely it is the halves that must stay together but I really don't know.
We missed that detail when we found the engine. I wonder what would happen if you used the halves off the other engine?
Looks like the crate engines in post #40 in this thread have both halves.
Surely it was only the halves that were machined together and not those and the engine.
