That is probably what I would do. I wonder what the +/- tolerance on those pins are? I didn't have any to measure. In other words is a 1" pin really 1" or is it undersized to whatever to fit in a 1" hole?
Is Eastern Surplus doing your transmission overhaul? If not, could you find out who is doing it and and an estimate on getting one done?
I would be interested in knowing where to have it done and what the cost would be. I have not been able to find anyone that works on these transmissions still.
Can someone tell me what the military part numbers for the brake and vent hoses on the differentials are? Are they all the same numbers? I can't seem to find it in my TM's.
Welcome to the forum! Looking forward to seeing your truck.
Some good spare parts to keep on hand are probably points, condenser, rotor and distributor cap. I'm sure some others will chime in with things they keep on hand as well.
In case you haven't seen it yet, here is a parts list several...
The seal I am looking for is in the lower right hand corner of the middle drawing. I believe it is "R" but I can't see the letter real well.
Could you also ask what they are using for weatherstripping between the different pieces of the hardtop assembly?
I was wrong. The one with the crimped end is what is in my carburetor too. The other one came with a rebuild kit and the holes in it are smaller. I have not used the ones from the rebuild kit. The originals are marked "31" on top. Sorry for the confusion.
I wonder why some of those main well tubes are different? The one on the left is what is in my truck. The one on the right came in a rebuild kit. The one on the right looks like what you have.
Yep. That is why we started the parts list. No one has 1952 GMC M135 or M211 in their database. A lot of the parts are out there. Just have to find the modern equivalent.
From the picture you posted, it appears to be MN #2. I've never seen one made from plastic, just metal ones.
I'm still trying to figure this new scanner out for the rebuild manual. Sorry for the delay. Something I did not know before I got the manual is the governor spring post is supposed to...
They are not the same size or shape as the M35. The G749 windshield is the same width as the M923 but about 2 inches or so shorter.
We have found that we can use the M923 windshield seals for the G749. Just cut off that excess few inches at the top.
