Where to find cab air ride and fan clutch air system troubleshooting procedures, 2000 M1088A1

That is next on the list of things to tackle. Actually, it's not next, but it's on the list... It was working fine until one day it wasn't. I unplugged it to get it home (relays kept cycling like a metronome) and have been working on other things since then. As part of a different project...

RESOLVED!!! - Solenoid block no longer needed

RESOLVED!!! In a feat of awesomeness, Rick (GeneralDisorder) happened to have one attached to a spare cab at his shop. He was kind enough to let it go my way, and in an amazingly short time since I took the liberty of screwing it up, my rig is back to fully functional. A little bit of...

RESOLVED!!! - Solenoid block no longer needed

Chasing a different issue, I created a new one for me. I over-tightened an air line on the power divider and fan clutch distribution block and spun it off. Anyone have a source for a replacement? A broken one looks like this:

Where to find cab air ride and fan clutch air system troubleshooting procedures, 2000 M1088A1

Problem solved. Was a bit self-inflicted. I worked on the regulator while chasing leaks and needed to reset it. I used regulated compressor air to get it to open ~90 psi and I'm back in business.

Where to find cab air ride and fan clutch air system troubleshooting procedures, 2000 M1088A1

Thanks Chucky. No popping or hissing. Just pulled the line at the solenoids (2 because its a 1088). No air supplied. Starting to trace the feed line backwards.

Where to find cab air ride and fan clutch air system troubleshooting procedures, 2000 M1088A1

Yeah, that's what I'll physically be doing shortly, but if there's documentation around for how to solve the issue, I'm ok not re-inventing the wheel.

Where to find cab air ride and fan clutch air system troubleshooting procedures, 2000 M1088A1

My cab stopped air-riding and the fan stays engaged. I assume they run off the same feed which has been compromised somehow. Having a "fun" time digging through the manuals. Can anyone point me at the proper section of the proper manual? If there is something which typically craps out which...

    M1088 camper conversion

Officially powered up! This was ~3p on a mixed sky afternoon, ~70° or so, during a break in the clouds. Very exciting... truck is now a viable (primitive) camping option- bedroom, bathroom, refrigeration, illumination. Everything else is icing on the cake.

    M1088 camper conversion

I didn't have a lot of time due to work constraints but I did fire up a battery, confirm the MPPT controller and 24V->12V DC-DC converter are online, and that the panel was 12V energized.... and SUCCESS!! I had illumination in the habitat via its own on board power supply. I still need to feed...

    M1088 camper conversion

Massive forward progress this week- all the things which were on the dining room table are now in the truck! The partial box I built for all the solar components has been transferred into a corner of the habitat. All the components have been reinstalled into the box. Wires have been cut to...

    Eco Hubs and 3.07's - in a 2000 M1088 with a 3126 (~24k pounds)

Thread drift: We need a new thread about whatever that is!!!

    Eco Hubs and 3.07's - in a 2000 M1088 with a 3126 (~24k pounds)

A very brief update: Had a wet tank leak which I remedied and wanted to validate, so I used the truck for some errands today. If I had never had the reduction hubs, I would never even think about them. The rig feels normal... I think my trans is still re-learning shift points but I still see...

    M1088 camper conversion

A simple check valve replacement cured a nagging air leak. A new valve KN23010 (thanks to the spreadsheet!) behind the front bumper keeps my wet tank pressure rock steady at 123 psi and stopped the way-too-frequent cycling of the compressor/dryer. On the subject of gearing, I just used it to...

    Gear oil level in axles?

Thanks gents. That's what I was figuring but confirmation is reassuring.

    Gear oil level in axles?

How do you check the gear oil level in the axles? I put "some" back in after the hub delete but want to make sure I have "enough" in there. Should it be level with the fill plug? A certain distance below? Can anyone point me to the correct TM passage? Specifically for a 2000 M1088A1...

    ECO DIRECT DRIVE HUBS

I have a 1088 with 3.07's and lockers in both rear axles. Truck runs great. Does it affect the hub normal operation? Yes- this kit completely removes the hub reduction gears. Mine are in a box in the shop. They no longer operate... We have 3 trucks with them installed in the Portland area...

    Eco Hubs and 3.07's - in a 2000 M1088 with a 3126 (~24k pounds)

Rick is close on the truck specs- 2000 M1088 with 3126 and 330 horse tune, with a current weight of ~24k. He is spot on with the results though, it felt exactly as I thought/expected it would- which is to say not really different performance, just a different engine note. I am extremely happy...

    Eco Hubs and 3.07's - in a 2000 M1088 with a 3126 (~24k pounds)

There is now at least one truck with 3.07 gears and the Eco hubs. Rick came over last yesterday and we spent a LONG quality day together doing a CTIS service in addition to the hub swap. MASSIVE(!!!!) thanks to him for his assistance! The verdict? I have only driven about 7 miles with it...
