Throw an air chuck quick connect on the wet tank and make an appropriate adapter to connect to your compressor. This also allows you to run air tools when the motor is running.

Super easy mod and a very handy and practical feature! Just wrench the two male...
I understand schedule constraints, but think carefully about this. It sounds like you're prepping correctly but a single minor issue could literally strand you for days or weeks on the road. This is a massive expedition in a (basically) unevaluated rig. Take the time to make sure it's ready...
This is true, and I went a little overboard due to not having the resources of the US military supporting me (at least not directly!). I intend to use my rig to go places and after already experiencing an engine code 1000+ miles from home, I went with the pound of prevention is worth a ton of...
Pieced together a bit of the video. Still no soundtrack, but a decent visual documentation of our trip. Nothing we were saying was really going to add to the spectacle of the scenery:

Moving back to my build thread. Just did another UT/AZ trip. Some details here:

Back home. Roughly 2800 total miles, truck ran fantastically.
For the record, it was a total of 322 gallons of fuel to go 2570 miles, which equates to 7.98 MPG across the entire trip. This includes hours of slow uphill on gravel, some deep sand stretches, a couple of nights with the heat on...
No worries at all. I assume that volunteers keep the forum running and I appreciate the efforts, even if everything doesn't go perfectly. Fact is, I wouldn't be doing this without the support of this forum, so I contribute what I can as content and happily $'s support it as well. I didn't...
Gunny,
Despite a number of other people discussing their rig configurations and mileage impacts, my prior reply to you was deleted because "The folks who have been posting in the Thread 'ECO Hubs who needs 3:07 Gears?' have requested that you start your own thread about your current trip."

Still out on the trip but can drop a note...
Check out the elevation profile of I-84 from Portland to SLC, then I-15 to Spanish Fork, then Rt 6 over to Price. Winds were pretty calm, for the most part. We had a bit of a storm into SLC but nothing outrageous. That leg was a best of 8.8, worst...
Moved camp into the Swell today. Perched on top of Cedar Mountain tonight.
Lunch stop on edge of an outcropping
Pulled into camp
Scenery, 50' from camp

We'll be heading down off the rim in the next day or two, likely to be out of service at that point. Will keep in touch when I...
Mileage update: ~25k pounds, 6x6, 3.09's, Goodyear MVT's, big box on back (12' 4" high, 8' wide), kept speed at or below (most of the time) 65 mph
Portland, OR to Henderson Utah; 887 miles, 108.9 gal gives 8.13 mpg.
No issues with drivability.
This is the originally planned trip which was supposed to be our big maiden voyage, and we're well underway at this point. Truck ran flawlessly, and running between 60 and 65 mph is netting low 8's for mpg. Drive train is running smoothly and I am loving what the Eco hubs do for all the running...
My windshield was in decent shape, but there were a few scratches on it which were annoying. Conveniently, they were on the wife's side, but Rick stumbled across a sweet deal and scored one for me. Yesterday, it went in.

Initial install, should be pretty obvious why the universal lines weren't a good match here:
For the record, the forward one rubbed against the cab mud flap and pushed it out. The aft one had ~1/8" clearance between the coolant hard lines and the cab body seam, maybe 3/8" after I hammered on...
Following up on this work:
Motor is back together and running wonderfully. Desired and actual are running within ~10psi across all ranges.
IFS filter is installed between HEUI pump and cylinder head. This went well with the filter being mounted where the driver side kneeling cylinder was...
