ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I can attest that it is in fact a legal alternative. Basically, most states require that you register your motor vehicle in the state you reside (typically within 30 days of purchase or moving to a state). A "company car" can be registered in the state the "company" resides...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

You might also consider starting an LLC in a more "friendly" state. Company vehicle. Leased to yourself. Add the LLC as "also covered" on the insurance. /done Cheaper than a new home... :)

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Yeah, we can get you that in this thread with a few back-and-forths... So, what color is the truck? :p

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Good question. I *think* it's the ECM. Like all the diagnostic stuff, mileage can be checked from the diag port (and read from the ECM). But honestly, I don't know. I bet @GeneralDisorder or @Ronmar can confirm.

How to make drivers seat more comfortable

True, but...it's a bit of a personal taste (and highly dependent on just how radically you intend to " send it" with your RV/big rig. While a little bolster is certainly good, too much can be limiting. IMO, these trucks are enough of a climb to get in/out of with just cushy flat...

How to make drivers seat more comfortable

Any of a number of take-off or aftermarket seats can be modified to fit. I found a pair of new/take-off second row minivan seats for $50 locally. BAE did eventually address the "sitting on a brick wall seat" issue. The original S&S seats had a metal plate at the base of the foam (any...

    Yeah, I did a double take when I saw P2 :)

    Mounting box to m1088a1

As Geo said, I'd keep that secondary cooler. Relocate it into the frame. Your trans will live longer. I actually got one NOS at auction a few years back. It's going on the M1079 when I eventually pull the shelter to paint the frame and a few other tasks. But if you d delete it, save...

What jack stands do you use….. looking cheap….

It is a fact. The ASME rates stands "per pair" (or at least have in recent memory). "Jack Stands made after 2015 are always rated as a pair. Meaning 6-ton jack stands are individually rated to hold a maximum of 3-tons. They are also only rated when used as a pair together." Oddly, some...

LMTV/Brazos/Titan XD4400… is it right for me?

Thanks, but I'd say Ronmar and General Disorder are the go-to for most of the specifics. I just share my mistakes and opinions. There are FAR more knowledgeable folks on here than myself.... ;)

LMTV/Brazos/Titan XD4400… is it right for me?

While people often tend to go ga-ga over the Brazos/Titan having a Cummings, you have to ask yourself if it's *really* worth the premium (Titans typically sell for 2x to 10x the cost of the same truck in the military livery). Factor in an RV build on top of that and you're likely...

LMTV/Brazos/Titan XD4400… is it right for me?

I bet I know who sold it to him for that price, too. (bet there's a point of the compass in the company's name) It's a $250 common piece of glass from OnmiGlass LOL

What have you done to your FMTV or LMTV today

I have those in my Amazon cart. Someone had some on their truck a few years back Great idea, but my truck is a daily driver and I'd never put them on. LOL

M1078A1 not charging in neutral! FIXED!

He has a 2005 so...could be either way ? BAE had a big roulette wheel and a headless chicken when it came to putting together their early trucks. "We're out of 3126s? Break out the C7s (but keep using the old rear ends until they are gone). Here, put this grill on that one"

What Unholy Sorcery Is THIS ?

Yeah, this one is on GP now. No running info. The images are all borked (half of them are from a 7-ton dump truck, LOL). I had to do a double take when I saw the pics with independent suspension. :)

What Unholy Sorcery Is THIS ?

I've often said that it was possible to replace the S&S/OEM steering column with something that had actual tilt (and cruise controls, horn, etc).

M1078A1 not charging in neutral! FIXED!

Someone with an A1 could snap a photo of the label for the guy. Heh I've found the A1 schematics, but they aren't much help.
