None mounted yet, but I'm going to run a 12v 4 AWG run to a six fuse buss up to the overhead console tapped into the 12v ignition source in the breaker panel (for radios).
I'm also doing a 12v 2 AWG run from the PPD down and back up to the rear of the cab (to power the stereo amps...
I never have seen the actual "kit". Even the A0 trucks that went back thru BAE for refresh didn't get them afaik. I've just not seen a retrofit done.
What the OP had appears to be a takeoff from an A1.
That said, a quick trip to the fab shop and a visit to a canvas place (to stitch...
Just additional two cents here (more of a ramble)...
My first truck was a M1078 LMTV. Great fun hauling bikinis at Spring Break. But I wanted a habitat (bikinis gotta sleep too, ya know).
My original plan was to slap an ambulance box on the back (with bed removed). I had started the whole...
This is where the topic somehow shifted to changing beds and options.
I was just wondering if Neil had said something that made you think that was his intention.
But I'm quite positive that if the OP wants to drop an S280 on the bed, there are ample examples of it working...
This is what I use (at home and on the road).
It has worked flawlessly for me thru three trucks

First, has Neil mentioned somewhere that he's removing the bed. Because I've not heard him say anything in regards to this.
If you're saying that the bed or any sort of sub-chassis is absolutely required, I tend to believe that may not always be the case with the S&S LMTV. One of the...
You should check out Neil's build. One of my favorites...
He too retained the bed so the truck is still multi-role. Used a S280 and set it up so he can drive it on/off.
Just my two cents:
As mentioned above, do you want the 4x4 or the 6x6 chassis?
That's the bottom line here, IMO.
The M1078 A1R w/C7 "should" have the upgraded rear dif that lets the drive shaft connect pretty much straight back. So will the 6x6 (any model). But the M1078 A0 with...
I was about to leave to ferry a yacht form TX to FL. A really sweet Gulfstar Sailmaster 50.
A few days before the trip, the first mate who lived on the boat came down with with this really ugly rash.
Turned out to be impetigo with a side dose of scabies.
Poor dude was covered with...
Nice work.
Yeah, if you look to the 3116/3126/C7 in civilian applications you will see a/c compressors mounted on the passenger side.
I don't know that I've ever seen a non-military setup that used the driver's side.
Reminds of the old cure for crabs.
Razor blade
Lighter fluid
Ice pick
Step one: Shave one side of pubes with razor
Step two: Pour lighter fluid on the unshaved side and ignite
Step three: As crabs run to shaved side, stab with ice pick
