I also had to deal with some tire issues on my A3 and found that since I needed two tires I could purchase a whole set of larger tires for the same price as two of the 14.5s. Before making the jump I did some research and although many think the 14.5 MPT has a different rim bead shape I am not...
I just up sized the tires on my M35A3 to 395 and have seven 14.5R20 Michelins that I can bring. Of the seven all hold air with no leaks but two are badly weather cracked and should only be used for spares. I put 500 miles on them in the last few months and the tread on all is 95% or better...
After reading all of the pros and cons I decided to put Goodyear Mt/V 395s on my A3. All of the tires are old date codes and although they held air pressure fine two of them had cracks that made me nervious driving with them. The cost of purchasing two 14.5 Michelins that matched was going to...
Not sure how it is going to work out but here is the shelter that I picked up from GL this summer. I would like to find a trailer to tow behind my Deuce that will carry it since it is so tall and I will need to sell my motor home to fund the transition from shelter to camper.
Barter or $$, I have an S-639/G shelter.
Photos are of my S-689 shelter, It is for sale or trade. The exterior it very good condition with a few small areas of paint peal the interior has some mold damage and needs painted. The heater and ventilator are untested and have a little corrosion...
I have not worked on the front yet but the parts book gives the same inner (12448545) and outer (A-50085) bearing part numbers for the front and the rear. The company in Tennesse that sells bearing kits to convert from CTIS bearings to the A2 bearings says that to make the change on the front...
Good luck on the drive home, I drove mine about 300 miles before diff oil started leaking out one of the inner seals. The bearings did not seem to be damaged but all of the grease in all eight of the bearing was washed out by the diff oil.
The Inner Bearings were 970$ from one vendor and the outer was 480$ from the same vendor. There are not many options for vendors, I contacted Timken and was told that since the military still uses the bearing they could only sell it through authorized military suppliers but that thier cost on...
I retrieved my A3 in July and after putting a few hundred miles on it diff oil started leaking out of one of the inner wheel seals. After doing some research I found the bearings are not only very expensive but the inner bearings are packed at the factory by timken and the inner seal is part of...

They Tagged my a3 as a pickup truck, the gal at the counter ask if it was one of those things with the cover and seats in the back for men to sit in. I guess that constitutes a pickup truck.
The SF-97 came in last week with 1994 as the production year, Carnac listed it as a 96 but the title will say 94 I don't think that will cause any one any problems later. I took it into the local DMV office in Acworth, GA. and 20 minutes later I walked out with a license plate and title on...
My date tags are so thick with paint that I have not attacked them yet, but Carnac gave me a date of 1996 that I will try to title it as. The SF 97 is not in yet and what is says is what I may be stuck with. Mine also is very low miles and condition to match, what is your opinion on flushing...
I also have an M35A3 recovered from Fort Gordon last month and am waiting for the SF-97, could you share the NHTSA information? More than likely I will run into the same issues when I go the DMV. Do you think the DMV will accept a photo of the emissions tag on the valve cover or should I get the...
They seem like great trucks, I just picked one up from GL in Fort Gordon, GA. (my first steel soldier aquisition). I have put in for an SF 97 but have not gotten it back yet, the Georgia DMV will not issue a title or license plates without it and my insurance co. will not insure it without a...
I just picked up my M35a3 a few weeks back and it came with a Model S-939/G electronics shelter, it fills the and weighs over 3,700 lb. It looks complete but the repair equipment has been removed. The serial number is 009. I can not find any information on the shelter, are these uncomon? I...
