That alarm is also for when the air pressure drops below about 60 psi. Check those gauges when the alarm goes off when driving. With faulty brake system valves, sometimes holding your foot on the brake will dump air pressure.
If the batteries are fully charged, just disconnect the ground wire before your leave to stop any parasitic drain. If the batteries are in good condition, they should maintain their charge until you can return next month. If they can't hold a charge for a month, you need new batteries.

I added chain links using repair lap links to lengthen the tail gate chains to level the tailgate.
