    Starter bolt broke

Yeah no lock wahers. The problem is the bolts are not very thick and the starter is very heavy. Just the way it is. Mark

    Backfiring

Was just thinking the same thing. Truck sat and then started to be used and garbage from the tank makes a mess of things. Mark

    Backfiring

Well you need to start doing some detective work. Pull the dist cap and check the points if good lube the shaft and set the points for .018". Next disconnect one of the spark plug wires and with a spare plug see it you are getting a hot spark (running) so you know the coil is ok. How long has...

    Starter bolt broke

On my M998 I was able to walk it around with a good sharp punch. These bolts typically fail not because the get rusted in place but because the base of the bolt work hardens from the weight of the starter and the torque of the starter. Replace both for sure and make sure the rear bracket is...

    Backfiring

Carb needs to be rebuilt is a very likely cause for the problem if it has been sitting. I had a 51 M42 and went down the same road. Mark

    1999 M1097 4 speed 6.5L seized motor

I dug mine out and depending on which cylinder it is it back be a bear to get in there. I used a cotton ball I stuffed into the injector hole then pushed it under the broken tip. When I tapped the tip in from the outside the cotton captured it. I then used a custom bent long needle nose pliers...

MT My HMMWV insurance odyssey or how I became a miner 23'er

Very creative to say the least. Well done Sir. The woke hates everthing that doesn't follow their narrative or offends them in some bizarre way. Keep us updated. Mark

    M1097A2 Driveshaft

If you are using the old shaft make sure you mark the drive shaft to pinion so it goes back on with the same orientation. If the drive shaft is out of phase (180 degrees) it can cause a vibration. Have seen this problem with a Nissan frontier truck just a month ago. Mark

    NHC250 metal in oil

Very interested in the outcome as I am at a loss where those pieces came from. I would just be giving wild guesses. Mark

Was there a final correct answer on the LM/FMTVs being EMP proof ????

PURCHASED HMMWV WITH NO MODEL YEAR ON DOCUMENTS - TEXAS

Old? The Humvees are not old. They are just mature that's all lol. I drove many cars with powerglide 2 speeds back in the day and we got around just fine. Mark

    all black with Behr paint

Only issue with all black is you have zero contrast with black on black on black. Makes the truck look less finished IMHO but still nice. Keep up updated. Mark

    M1078 remove 2 batteries

Below is the unit you want. Mark

    M1078 remove 2 batteries

If you have four batteries and believe one is pulling a tiny load I would electrically disconnect all the batteries and let them sit for a day or two and more than likely the one with noticeably less voltage is your heat sink problem battery. Mark

PURCHASED HMMWV WITH NO MODEL YEAR ON DOCUMENTS - TEXAS

Did they ever put the contract number (six digit serial number) anywhere on the frame? Seems crazy to just have it on a removable data plate. Mark
