The intake piping looks funny on that truck. My truck has the turbo compressor inlet closer to the radiator, and the exhaust dumps into the downpipe near the firewall. It looks like this truck has the compressor inlet piping on the firewall side, but how is the downpipe routed near the...
No major issues. Two minor ones.

Here are a few shots of the donor 5.9 Cummins and AT545 and how they went into my M35A2 bobber.
Tons more pics and information can be found on either of the links below (i.e. my build thread or personal deuce website).
See my build thread and/or build site listed below. I have had zero problems on my 12v swap in my bobbed deuce. I also have installed a blast gate on the intake to protect from a runaway.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Drove my bobbed deuce for the first time in a few months today. First, I ate lunch with my wife and a friend. Then I drove to my mom's house for a 40 mile cruise to clear out the cobwebs.
2 Close calls within a mile on the same road:
#1 SUV tried to back up while I approached him in the...
See the link below for my build thread. Black Rock Fab made the lift kit. I'm not sure if he does those anymore, but feel free to reach out to Kyle and see.
It's been a while since I posted, but I'm still around and check the forum often. I drive my deuce as much as I can when the Louisiana weather cooperates. No issues to speak of.
Here's a video of my bobbed deuce in the 2018 Veterans Day Parade in Gonzales, LA on 11/11/18.
I found the...
I think it was an 809 series. m-35tom suggested it because it was 6" longer. My build website says it was a gasser hood. I think I got it from Eastern Surplus.
I have an Allison AT545 mated to a Cummins 6BT in my bobbed deuce. Top speed with 53" Michelin's is 55mph while riding the governor.
I left the transfer case and driveshaft from the tranny to transfer case unmodified. This made me push the engine forward. Only hiccup there was to put a...
When I took the PTO cover plate off you can see a large gear in there. Is that what the Chelsea PTO mates up to? Stupid question, but some AT 545's are missing the PTO gear in there? I don't know how common it is.
I don't really have a need for a PTO (dump bed, snow plow, etc). If I had...
Drained the transmission fluid. Dropped the pan. Decide to use Permatex The Right Stuff instead of a gasket. Used it on the Allison AT545 PTO block-off plate too. Let it cure a week. :D
Swapped on a new WIX 51622 remote transmission filter. Put in 20 quarts of DEX MERC. Made the cold mark...
I had a hood lift kit that I never installed on my bobber. It won't work with the old dump truck hood that I used. This is a lift kit that BBQROD sold me from the classifieds.
[Edit - My hood lift kit is now sold.]
Jim, when I bought my deuce it was basically doing the same thing. The water temp gauge would eventually peg out. I ended up replacing the sender only. No issues after that.
