I've had the same (2) pair of LED headlights since late 2011. One pair is installed in the traditional deuce headlight buckets, and the other pair is below the front bumper (to be legal height for Louisiana).
Only issue I have ever had with those lights in 5 years was during the recent...
So I'm leaning towards upgrading the stock rear axle shafts to Ouverson chromoly pieces. At the same time I'll drop in an Ouverson rear locker. Since I have to take the front axle apart after fording the deep water I might as well replace the front shafts and put a locker in there too. I'll...
Thanks for posting the results! Even after all of your efforts I would still need to wear hearing protection in there. These trucks are just loud. Maybe it's the thin glass?
I can't remember everything, so here's a few questions:
1) You have a hard top?
2) Did you do anything for sound...
So I think I broke a rear axle shaft or the spider gears in the rear diff. I pulled a stuck U-haul out from a previously flooded home in St. Gabriel off Hwy 30 where volunteers were gutting it for repairs. This behemoth U-haul was stuck to the bottom of the rear axle, and the front was deep in...
My axle vents were on the side plate of the diff cover. I changed the vents out to barbed fittings and ran clear braided hose to a higher location for deep water fording.
See my modification page below for new axle breather setup.

Catching up on my thread again to update some recent event pictures. I spent 4 days during the 2016 Louisiana Flood rescuing family, friends and anyone else that asked for help along the way.
I took 85 pictures of the 2016 Louisiana Flood. Feel free to click on over to my website for all of...
That's a tough call that I can't make. I think it would still work fine with the factory airpack and stock MC if you converted all 6 drums to discs. Not sure how it would work if you only converted the front to discs. Note that I don't have a proportioning valve on my bobber disc brake setup...
Based on the dates from my website I installed my disc brake kit on 12/09/12. I didn't replace the factory deuce air pack and master cylinder with the Hydroboost unit until 05/23/14. However, I removed the deuce engine on 10/13/13. This equates to me running the factory air pack & master...
Still rocking disc brakes on my bobber from Black Rock Fab since 12/09/12. Converted them to Hydroboost on 05/23/14.
See my website below for pics of the install on each.

Yes, the Allison AT545 that I have behind the Cummins 6BT engine in my deuce only has a 1.00:1 fourth gear ratio. The factory Spicer 3053A has a 0.85:1 fifth gear ratio. So I can only hit 55 mph on my Autometer GPS speedometer with my current setup of modifications listed in my signature file...
Thanks Ahab! I had to wash the deuce down when I got her home because the Tunica Hills mud is something fierce if you let it sit overnight. That's the first time I bathed the deuce at a coin-op car wash. I was getting some attention while in bay #3. :D
Catching up on my thread again to update some event pictures. Took my wife in our bobbed deuce on a Freedom Ride through the Louisiana countryside with a few Jeep clubs on 07/04/16.
I took 36 pictures of the Freedom Ride. Feel free to click on over to my website for all of them on the gallery...
Catching up on my thread to update some event pictures. Took my deuce to a diesel trucks drag race & show event at State Capitol Raceway in Port Allen, LA on 05/14/16.
I took 28 pictures of the diesel truck drag event. Feel free to click on over to my website for all of them on the gallery...
Few various pictures of my bobbed deuce hauling small loads around for general honey-do tasks.
Notes:
- Demo old fencing
- Install 2 new gates & fencing
- If it moves throw more concrete on it!
- Many thanks go out to my best bud that has a burn pile.
- Old concrete mixers are much better than...
