NHC 250 goes past idle and dies when letting off throttle

Hi Will I agree but I don't know what to tell you...replaced the cross-threaded elbow and return line, aligned the connection properly, reassembled and bingo! back in business with no stalling. 20 bucks for parts. Been running like a top ever since. Just trying to share my weird, frustrating...

NHC 250 goes past idle and dies when letting off throttle

Good luck (y) Make sure to let us know what you find (or don't find). There are a ton of folks here on the site with way, way more experience than me with these trucks that will be willing to chime in and help as well.

NHC 250 goes past idle and dies when letting off throttle

LCA078 No problem. Trying to save you some headaches and hopefully some cash. I spent the time to write this up for you as my truck would start and idle fine in neutral as well. But in gear and decelerating it presented the same issues as you are describing. Your problem sounds identical to...

NHC 250 goes past idle and dies when letting off throttle

I had the same problem when I first got my M923. It wanted to die when dropping to idle when decelerating and the trans did the rough 2-1 downshift. Start by completely checking your fuel supply to the engine if you haven't already. Start at your tank. How's your fuel quality? Got anything...

What did you do to your M939 today?

Who says a farm truck can't look fancy?? Treated my big farm girl this past weekend and cleaned up/painted her wheels and gave the tires a nice dose of tire foam. Bling!! A couple of weeks ago I hit the bed with some red oxide, coated the very front section with bedliner (where water...

    Feb. 19, 2020: News for Michigan MV's

Please, please, please do not even consider getting farm plates if you are not sure you meet the registration qualifications and you mention "open for interpretation" when discussing the law and that people are saying it is "not a big deal" to run farm plates erroneously... Here, I'll help you...

    M936A2 front axle boot

No worries about asking for help. As I have discovered myself that is what SS is all about: information, help and group therapy :) Getting familiar with the TM's can take some time but everything you need is there somewhere...just keep reading.

    M936A2 front axle boot

@ Charlesman The steps you need for R&R of the boot are in TM 9-2320-272-23-3, WP# 409. Easy to do on a 5-ton. Just make sure to seal the zipper properly and let the sealer set up before finishing the install.

Civilian pn for muffler gasket M939? Or other way to seal?

YMMV but I replaced my M923's muffler last summer (same issue rusted out bottom and getting fumes into the cab) and used the factory replacement gaskets. Perfect fit, no issues. My personal time and frustration running around looking for a suitable replacement at a truck parts place is worth...

    Feb. 19, 2020: News for Michigan MV's

Marquette If you do get that MTVR make sure you have plenty of extra funds left over in your bank account to pay the SOS for title and registration. Unless you are eligible for Farm plates you would be looking at GVW plates at 63,000 lbs. That will set you back a cool $1600+ each year. God...

South Korean M35's doing the job.

I think those 3 Deuces in the picture were U.S. made or at least old production Kia's. Here is a shot I found of the current KM250 Kia-made updated M35A2. 7.4L diesel @180 hp. I like the combo headlight/parking light grouping on the fenders. The grille kind of grows on you...looks more...

South Korean M35's doing the job.

I like the spare mounted vertically behind the cab...and the seats on the fenders, of course. Now that would be a wild ride! Sent from my SM-T580 using Tapatalk

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Fuzzy...Man! You seem to have an endless supply of great trucks there! I am so jealous. And your paint jobs look fantastic!! Even painting in the mud...

Porkysplace is correct. The SOS is more than happy to title and register your non-HMMWV military vehicle and take your money ASSUMING you have all the correct documentation they ask for, don't give them any lip and are not doing something specious like attempting to register a 5-ton as a 23,000...

What product works for 383 green on exhaust pipe?

Not sure what they used at the factory but I had good results using Rustoleum High Temp primer and then top coating with my color of choice. Rustoleum says it's good to 2000F and it worked on my new exhaust pipe on my 923. No discoloration or peeling paint... Edit...But I did paint the primer...

Show your 5 tons in the snow.

Jbulach I agree 100%. Michigan roads this time of year would not be good for my big southern girl from Alabama. Even when the roads are not covered in salty slush and are dry they are still covered with dried salt that forms rooster tails in your wake. Not good for any vehicle. She's managed...

Show your 5 tons in the snow.

I thought this "frosty" picture I took this past weekend of my big girl in the early AM turned out pretty nice..

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Ajax I get you. I understand completely. But there is no shame or embarrasment in breaking down...most of these trucks are antiques we are driving. Sooner or later it will probably happen. Just be prepared for the common things and the rest...well... deal with that when or IF it happens. Don’t...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Wow Ajax your ears must be well-trained... Between my 923's underhood "normal" engine noises, the exhaust, drive train, tire noise (G177's), general constant body rattles, stones flying up against the undercarriage and wheel wells and wind roar at speed against the cab I would never hear...
