    65 Kaiser M35A2 project starts

Cab and transfer case bushings replaced, no more shaky shake. Burned 25 rods of 7014 welding up carrier on the “chunk project”. The jeep guys call this a Lincoln locker but I’m partial to Miller myself. Ready for assembly…. Replaced last two cooling hoses on intake manifold (weepy) 6 new...

    65 Kaiser M35A2 project starts

Looks like I accidentally made the evening news a few days ago. Not involved in the hit and run thankfully 😂

    New guy from Arizona

Nice looking truck, I am down in Yuma. Let me know if I can be of any technical assistance.

Dave, that photo was just in front of the mountain range next to the VFW that housed the Patton tank. The Missile Launcher would be a little further out by about 10 miles, but after 2 hours playing around I had to go home for dad duties, doodies..... No cage required when airing back up from a...

    65 Kaiser M35A2 project starts

Got the pumpkin from David Wymore torn open, deep cleaned, gonna order some pinion seals and weld the carrier up for a DIY locker soon. I think having a fully spooled front end for tough situations should help a ton, not to mention it’ll steer straighter when engaged I’d think.

    65 Kaiser M35A2 project starts

I made the frame lines meeself since they’re pretty straight. TNJ MURRAY has all the axle lines with steel braided coil armor. Except for the front axle, which I also bent myself and reused the coil wrap off old lines. Looks factory! The hardest part is the myriad of line clamps.

Just logging more miles. Nearly got her stuck this morning in sand. Gotta get this front axle fixed soon with that spare chunk….

    65 Kaiser M35A2 project starts

DISASTER STRIKES! Kidding. Driving down the road today and I hear a loud WOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSHHHHHH and air pressure starts falling. Maintained 30 psi all the way home with no brake loss at all. The culprit? The gasket for the AIR PAK inlet valve blew out. It appears the 4 little screws were not...

    65 Kaiser M35A2 project starts

I noticed a loose driveshaft bolt. So she got parked for a week, spent an hour with an impact and a grease gun looobing all her joints and tightening anything that looked suspicious. Just a loose driveshaft bolt, all else is good. I pulled the rear trunnions caps to find they have the older...

Took my deuce off road and busted my kidneys out

Well by the time we add the gear, drinks, food, tools etc we might have enough weight back there to make a difference. Guess i'll have to start bringing more beer. You know, for the weight.

    65 Kaiser M35A2 project starts

Any harm in running her with the wear shown? Or should I decommission until fixed? Should I rebuild this one or rebuild another used one with better forks? I want to keep her driving so I’d love to find a spare trans and built it right, get the custom machined input cover with seal installed etc…

    65 Kaiser M35A2 project starts

The transfer case shifter seal has been leaking for a looooong time. A self tapper screw and a pry bar pops the old out real easy. Clean and looob your shaft and slide the new one in, a few circumferential taps with a little hammer seats her home. No more dripy puddles after a drive. I thought...

Took my deuce off road and busted my kidneys out

I keep hearing airing down is the ticket. But can a guy even steer with 25lbs in the front tires?

Took my deuce off road and busted my kidneys out

I took my newly back on the road M35 on a light offroad desert trail over the weekend. She handles fine on road and I have no complaints. Logged about 400 happy road miles. But this mild trail I went on was a real eye opener. A very mildly rutted rocky trail at just a few MPH too quickly had my...

So 400 miles daily driving with zero problems. What a great truck, it continues to grow on me like a big green tumor. Gonna drive the wheels off this son of a gun all winter. Probably start doing some body work in spring.

Found a M221 Tractor in Yuma, thinking of a rescue

I just don’t like seeing it sit there neglected! So if you think you could give her a good home I’ll gladly share the info. Would love to help with you getting it home any way I can. I work on the reservation which is sovereign land and they can do whatever they please unfortunately. We’ve...

Found a M221 Tractor in Yuma, thinking of a rescue

I was thinking the whole tanker/tractor combo could be a remake of the Duel truck movie! Or a mad max fury road rig…. Itll have to wait, received a notice at work mandating vaccination for all employees by Nov 15th. And the sheeple continue to drink the kool aid. So I’ll be on the hunt for a...

Found a M221 Tractor in Yuma, thinking of a rescue

And there’s a really nice 50ish GMC truck I have seen sitting for several years. No rust or damage. I want them all…..maybe I should start a YouTube channel for these rescues and become a career Youtuber. 🤔
