Desulfate.... or not... that is the question

I do agree with keeping the batteries fully charged and full of electrolyte but also desulfated. I have seen and have pulled 10 year old batteries out of military trucks that have had solargizers on them and they would take a charge and work just fine. I found a cab that we cut off of a truck...

Desulfate.... or not... that is the question

The solargizer that the military and I use and recommend keeps the batteries healthy from the start and aren't neant to revive old batteries. I do have a charger that has this function and about 50% of the time maybe less it will help old batteries.

Desulfate.... or not... that is the question

Coachgeo about every 6 months swap the batteries around so they get equal exercise. Also the desulfation does work, you might want to get a solargizer like the military uses, the small panel solargizer won't keep the batteries topped off but will keep them in good condition.

    New Member Pensacola, Florida (Born/Resident)

I would look at a small block or shackle flip on the rear axle it has a fair amount as is. The block will keep the helper springs in place for use as a real truck.

    Question for Florida Residents

Dude that is going to be a heck of a move! For that price I think I would load the M35 and trailer to the gills and drive it down. Take a week to do it on the easy side but will help you exercise the Deuce and trailer, just load the tools last you will probably need them at some point.

    M1028 Accessory Cables in Bed

The faded spots is from the brace all 1028's came with, the hose and cables are going to be specialized for whatever was in the bed and are unlikely welding hook ups. Most 1028's that were setup for welding used a miller bobcat or pulled a welding trailer with a standalone welder in it.

Changing M1009 Rear Ratio from 3.08 to 2.73

Best overall combo I have driven is 700r4, 33" tires, 3.40 ish gear. Have had almost every normal setup. Get well built 700r4 first then the others if you want to dial it in.

    Calling all Mississippi MV owners

Okay I need all Mississippi MV owners to check in here if you would please. I am in process of gathering information to get a MV tag law introduced next year, they have totally removed MV's from any mention in the law and Jackson tag and title workers have no clue.

    M931A2 engine/trans power restrictions

You can build the motor to big horsepower, transmission not so much. Get 7 speed or some other OTR truck transmission.

    Deep Water Fording

Thanks for the input guys, I have been putting square bodies in water up to the windows since '83. Yes maintenance is important! Just wanting to build a good truck that will live as long as possible because of flooding and mudding in the deep south. Thinking about adding an air line to my...

    Rare M923?

Yes but that is like saying that a real M923 gun truck isn't rare or a one of one mustang isn't rare because they built millions of them with all those different options but only one with all of those Particular options.

    Rare M923?

I have a M927 ISO BED also, I have seen a few more of them that the Army used. Both of my ISO BED trucks have water fording kits also and I don't believe they ever made a M928A1 ISO BED I believe all of the Marine trucks were M927 WO/W or M927W/W.

    Rare M923?

Are the M923 ISO bed Marine Corps trucks as rare as I think they are or just not many getting posted about?
