    Dog Bones

With the bed off, the uppers should be a piece of cake, If you are doing the rear upper, place a jack under the middle axle on the upper side, jack the axle end up as far as it will go, this will drop the rear axle down which will allow you to get to the retaining nut, pull the cotter pin, pull...

Southeast Willys Jeep Get Together 10/6/18 Asheville, NC

That is because it has to be built hefty enough to act as a wheel chock/emergency stop for the BIG MVs, this is a very hard to do in a small, movable space, hence the price.

Southeast Willys Jeep Get Together 10/6/18 Asheville, NC

Really this is NO DIFFERENT then when MV of the month/year first started, it was nothing to receive 1/2 dozen PMs/EMAILS a month "vote for this/that", just deleted, I NEVER vote one way or other because of pressure. So just delete whatever , post a gripe, send a gripe reply and keep on going.

Since STEEL SOLDERS is a INTERNET site, designed for COMPUTER not PHONE access to the internet, with allowed other non-designed access which means that just because you are using non-designed access to access SS, does not give anybody the right, thought, reason to believe, ect. that you should...

    Fatigue cracks

I would say, pull it all back together, weld it (total weld), clean up the weld, weld a 3x3x3/8 angle as long as you can fit on the inside, redrill the holes, this should hold longer then the truck. BEFORE installing the angle, PRIME EVERYTHING using a epoxy primer if possible, this will keep...

HET / M1070 To Pull The Sled this Thursday the 26th need advice!

You will notice in the first video that the drag plate on the sled is not making ANY ground contract for the total pull, this is because of the HIGH pental, so in realty it was just a drive off, so for a real pull, the trucks attachment point needs to be dropped way down.

HET / M1070 To Pull The Sled this Thursday the 26th need advice!

You WILL have a MAJOR traction problem, pulling from the pentle will not put any weight extra weight on the ground, with THREE axles sharing the bare frame weight will not do anything for traction, the 1070 is designed for weight on the fifth wheel, with the weight spread over the three rear...

    Air over hydraulic brake problem

When you are going to lube the air pack, use air tool oil because other stuff may be NOT compatible with the internal O-rings
  11. 73m819

Another noob brake question, I searched...

I do NOT see anywhere that you mentioned BLEEDING the brakes in the above post, if so all you are doing is compressing air which does not do much for a juice brake system, BEFORE you do ANYTHING, bleed the brakes, there is NO way to know if anything is wrong, let alone fix it, without the system...

Butte Montana large 5th wheel trailer down a steep mountain.

The only problem with a dolly is unless the trailer has brakes, the trailer will push the dolly all over the place going down a very steep loose gravel road.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

There is NO need for air when you bleed your brakes, the system does not need air to push the air out of it, what you do NEED is a power bleeder, a LOT faster, WILL get ALL the air out of the system, and will show if there is any leaks.

Are 16.5” rubbers really that bad?

"Are 16.5” rubbers really that bad?" That depends on a few things and need.

    WMO in CUCV

ALSO the clearances in a multifuel ip are very sloppy so it can run on crap if needed, compared to standard diesel engine which has VERY tight clearances.
  17. 73m819

    WMO in CUCV

Just REMEMBER that ANY mutilfuel engine IS designed as a THROW A-WAY diesel engine, just because it can run on battlefield collected crap dose NOT mean that it is good for a long life expectancy, anything AFTER the crap fueled mission is a PLUS.

5 ton knuckle rubber boot w/zipper

No, if the vendor can not tell where it is made, find another vendor, just about every item sold in the USA has the country of origin either on the item or on the packaging., or both.

5 ton knuckle rubber boot w/zipper

The one thing that is a must "NO CHINESE MADE", a few years ago, there was some of this CHAP on the market, they did NOT LAST long, the rubber was NOT compatible with gear oil and grease.

M1085a1 Wrong Fuel, Now Won’t Start

All right lets try this, 1--Install a schourder valve (tire inflection valve) in fuel cap to pressurize the tank. 2--Make up a pressure regulator with pressure gauge to fit between the air supply and the tank cap. 3--Crack the fuel line to the ip. 4--Pressurize the fuel tank to about 1 lb. or...
