    M1087

Someone other than the military has been servicing your truck as is evidenced by all the colors, so anything is possible.

Need help identifying this equipment shelter

See if you can find evidence of data plates being attached somewhere such as the door. There would be 4 holes for rivets or screws. I kinda think this shelter has something to do with a telephone switch, given the pads inside. If so it’s not military.

    The Project

Wow that be picked to the bone. Good choice for a build. No parts to get rid of.

    My M715 'rework' project

What are your plans for the transmission? The wet 350 might have the Novak adapter to couple a GM bellhousing to the T98. The 350 can handle 3200 rpm at 60 mph but the 6.2 not so much. So the T98 might have to go.

    My M715 'rework' project

Will you try to fix that hood? I recall finding a decent hood was a challenge 20 years ago.

    Smoke and Knock

If you have a GEP engine which most likely you do, it is certainly a candidate for overhaul. Might just need the bottom end done which is not difficult.

    M880 truck

When I got my 884 from (then) Ft Hood, all the auction trucks from cann point were missing the transfer case. I installed a 2WD transmission and driveshaft and drove it like that for years, getting around 15 mpg. When I finally got a transfer case and installed it, I was not pleased that fuel...

    Barn find, M35A3?

Yes for sure use the frame number for registration, anything else is a slippery slope. The military wouldn’t have converted a cargo truck into a shop van truck, I suspect that occurred after release by DOD. I also suspect the previous owner had hopes of adding the winch but never got a round tuit.

    Barn find, M35A3?

This number comes back as a 1968 M35A2 wo/winch cargo truck. Mfgr would be Kaiser Jeep. Data from the Carnac VIN info thread.

    M1097A2 trans control module

They don’t call these “High Maintenance Money Wasting Vehicles” for no reason. Hey you can rip around in limp mode second gear if you want. TCM not needed for that.
