See if you can find evidence of data plates being attached somewhere such as the door. There would be 4 holes for rivets or screws. I kinda think this shelter has something to do with a telephone switch, given the pads inside. If so it’s not military.
What are your plans for the transmission? The wet 350 might have the Novak adapter to couple a GM bellhousing to the T98. The 350 can handle 3200 rpm at 60 mph but the 6.2 not so much. So the T98 might have to go.
If you have a GEP engine which most likely you do, it is certainly a candidate for overhaul. Might just need the bottom end done which is not difficult.

Yes for sure use the frame number for registration, anything else is a slippery slope.
The military wouldn’t have converted a cargo truck into a shop van truck, I suspect that occurred after release by DOD. I also suspect the previous owner had hopes of adding the winch but never got a round tuit.
