Make sure you losen the a arm bushings so it will drop down as far as possible. I put mine on m998. It was difficult to get in. It will ride better but nowhere near as good as with aftermarket shocks. I have cepek adjustible and they are on setting 3 in a 0-9 range. Rides very well.
I recently replaced all. I bought 2 from summit and 2 from autozone. The ones from summit were very competitively priced. So cheap I was worried they would not be correct. I only bought two as the other part number not avaliable thru them.
I have mine balanced also. It is still rough at times. I bought centramatics but have not installed yet. I am hoping they will smooth out the ride even more.
I was going to use the 24v signal to operate a 24v relay to turn off 12v signal when not in use. Basically just to turn the 12v off to prevent battery drain.
Back to the swap...I managed to kill a alternator regulator and blow out a geared hub seal. I'm sure the seal is from the swap and everything is spinning faster now. I still have tc locking switch as temporary switch ran to drivers seat. I've been thinking about putting a y adapter on the...
When you took bushings out were they cracked all the way thru? Another thought...If you are already installing bushings how much more trouble would it be to lift an inch or 2?
I put in in all 4. I also ran with factory shocks and Cepek adjustible shocks. I cut 1 coil from all springs. If I remember correctly I would have done 1 1/2 for rear. The factory shocks are very stiff, even with softer springs. I have cepeck adjustible from 0-9, 0 is softest 9 hardest. I have...
I am finding myself in need of a good regulator. I have the kind that looks like a Starburst. This will be my second replacement. The brushes looked good previously when I had it open and I blew everything out. It worked flawlessly until it quit altogether. Now its 24.3 on or off, it has voltage...
I agree. I made several assumptions that cost me $$$$. It's probably worth a sticky on the swap. We have enough information including parts lists to benefit our users. Too bad I'm not organized enough to do that sort of thing.
Update on Bowtie Overdrives: I have been unsuccessful in getting any monetary help from Bowtie Overdrives. I paid a reputable shop to install the trans purchased from Bowtie. Bowtie claims we did not follow their warranty instructions by providing line pressures and other items to make sure it...
Yesterday I made a temporary harness for the converter lockup with a on/off switch. All I can say is wow. It really does calm everything down. Makes less noise, lowers rpm and really cuts down the cooling fan cycles! I haven't had on on interstate but around 50 mph it is a dream. The engine...
