Those guys are out in Issaquah in the Seattle area, my old stomping grounds. I don't think they intend that truck to be a race truck, it's more something they can take to shows to demonstrate their shops fabrication skills, and that kind of thing. They have a couple of them now, it is always...
Implying the threads are different? I've never actually looked. A coolant filter is about 10 bucks, but I hear you, free is free. For others starting from scratch though I just wanted to let them know the option was available.
Funny enough this also means, strictly speaking, my understanding is you can't temporarily take one into Canada or resell/transfer/loan one to a non-national in-country (without approval). The FMTVs are like this too, although I think it escapes a lot of people's notice, especially those people...
I dunno that I would trust an oil filter to do the job of a coolant filter in general. There are purpose-built coolant filters (which are also cheap) and they have media designed for the application. Maybe that particular Mobil filter does work well as frank8003 noted but I'd be concerned about...
For what it's worth, I've jumped mine, although I can't say I recommend it. This has been talked before, I think even on a thread I brought up, but a big issue is getting a cage on a cabover while preserving the tilt function (and not adding too much weight to an already front-heavy platform)...
I think my M1078 rides pretty nice already, at least on the highway. No complaints, but my air bags work. What I do notice is when wheeling' it, it kind of tends to lift wheels, presumably because they are not "squished" down. I find having some weight in the back helps with that. I joke about...
Guy I met once drove strykers. Says they suck, get stuck all the time. Should have had tracks. Anyways, the way he told it, you call heavier and heavier things and stick them all until you eventually call a hercules. I asked him what happened when you get the hercules stuck and he said he didn't...
I don't know anything about the Behr paint specifically but one thing to consider is that in some systems the colored paint layer is not 100% water tight. Water can still get inside, a tiny bit, and these systems rely on a sealing primer and/or gloss to be become waterproof. So it's not just...
Which Graco specifically are people talking about? I looked and I see they make a lot of different airless sprayers. I usually shoot CARC through a HVLP but I am getting tired of the hassles with it, and think I might give this a go.
Can you imagine taking that thing to the DMV haha, and people thought the HMMWVs were bad...
It kind of looks a bit to me like what would have happened if they had done another Jeep iteration with the light scout concept rather than go up to the HMMWV. My Civilian jeep can hardly carry anything...
That's really interesting, thanks for checking that out. As I was saying they were not wired on the old unit I had, but it may be that they started wiring them on the newer units (I suspect from the 5-ton). Since I have a NOS unit, it will be worthwhile for me to hook up an interface and see if...
