My truck has a slow air leak I'd like to patch up and I would like to find it (or them, plural?) the easiest way possible.
It seems to lose about 30psi per day, or if I park it after a drive, the tanks will drain after about 3-4 days. I was thinking about making some kind of fog machine hookup...
A few months ago I replaced the injection pump on my 923. At first, everything was running great. Then, after about an hour of the engine running, it died. It would always run just fine if the engine was cold, or I had some time in between cranking the starter. Thus began a multi-month...
Between my DMs and a couple responses on other threads, I figured I'd consolidate everything into one thread.
I replaced the fat old injection pump this last weekend and got everything working great. I know there's plenty of wisdom and experience in these threads but I wanted to share a couple...
Personally I'm not a fan of vinegar in coolant flushes. I've seen it perform no better than a couple passes of water at best, and cause leaks at worst. When I flushed mine, I bought like 50 gallons of distilled water and ran that all thru until it was draining clear. There probably was a more...
I contacted Ken from MVParts to be safe and he said
"The fittings in the kit are either o-ring boss or JIC. Neither of these fittings require any sealant, and sealants shouldn't be used with them, if you do the irony is then they might leak."
So for your setup, unless your filter base uses...
Another question to resurrect this thread. Im also replacing the canister fuel filter with one of those spin-on kits from mvparts. Are there any special gaskets or washers that go into any of the threaded fuel lines? Specifically the main line from the tank -> filters -> pump? Neither the new...
I did my best to not burn any bridges since the owner seemed like an honest enough guy once I was able to talk to him directly and not one of his shop workers. I told him it was a fairly simple part to replace so I just had him subtract the cost of a new PCB from the job and we were square. I...
the batteries are fully charged
i think this is most likely. I got a chance to talk to the owner of the shop today. He said he personally removed the battery cables and PCB ground wire before welding but was not around when his guys put it back together and tried starting it.
He was...
Just got my Baldwin 1368 in the mail, for converting the oil filter to a spin on type. Instructions say to use a specific included gasket only if the motor has a "NH Horizontal Pump Mount Head P/N 197093". Does that apply to the NHC 250? I can't find anything online or from previous oil filter...
Hey all,
Bad news. I took my truck to a welder shop to get a trailer hitch receiver put on, as I do not trust the quality of my own welds. I showed them where to disconnect the batteries and where to disconnect the ground strap from the PCB, but alas, the welders did not remove the ground wire...
Howdy guys.
I'm active duty Air Force and the time is approaching for me to move bases. I'm anticipating roughly 1,200 miles to my new base and am currently planning on driving my 923 the whole way. The truck overall is in really good shape mechanically, to the point where I'm actually planning...
Hi all,
I got a little bit of spending money and I think I want to attack replacing the injection pump on my 923 A1. It currently works, it just leaks some diesel from old gaskets (only when running) and the internal part where the tachometer cable threads into is broken so I don't have a...
I've been running my tractor transmission fluid for about two months now and it chugs a little bit on the 2-1 but otherwise seems to be doing okay. But like you said, still a massive improvement on what it used to be. I still plan on biting the bullet on the gucci Allison fluid this spring...
i did consider rebuilding but my box is kinda crusty from a mediocre paint job from a few owners back.
That said, if anyone is interested in taking my old one once I get it out of the truck you'd be welcome to it
IDK why I didn't think of this before but that makes so much more sense.
I poked around the TMs and with my multimeter and looks like you're right. Thankfully it's not the *most* expensive thing that could go wrong
Maybe it's coincidental but a few days prior to this issue coming up I did...
Hey all
My truck wouldn't start the other day. The starter motor made no clicking sound or anything which I thought was strange. I then noticed that turning the battery lever off does NOT turn off power to the truck, as in, the gauges stay powered, the buzzer still buzzes with the ignition in...
Noted. I might do a little more research. I did find some 24v equalizers without a 12v lug for much cheaper. In theory the end result should be the same. The winch will drain one battery quicker in this case, but the equalizer should balance things out eventually as long as I keep the engine...
