Thanks for the wrapup. If it ever gets to where it cranks but will not quite run or it cranks but you do not see any smoke out of the exhaust after a few seconds like it is not getting fuel, it may be the magnetic pickup or MPU. Search MPU. I have had that problem twice on my 804a but not on my...
Any progress? Please let us know if you got it working which may be useful to someone in the future. Many folks disappear after a few posts and we never find out what worked or didn’t.

Mine had around 47 hours when I got it. At first nothing did anything. I read about the dead crank switch and it would turn over from there. After a lot of tapping and wiggling wires, the solenoid would start of make noises. Eventually, it ran. You will need to drop the control panel cover...
Well start at the bottom and work your way up. Fuel in tank? Does it get to the priming pump? To the right of my manual priming pump is the line that goes to the injector pump, find yours and loosen there. As you pump, you should see fuel, if not find out why. I have replaced my priming...
You understand that you need to unscrew the top of the manual pump to release the plunger so that you can prime it, right? You will also need to crack the fuel lines as they go up to the injectors and pump until you see fuel, then tighten. Have you downloaded the books? Have you ever seen it...
If you need to talk something through on the 804, you can click on my name to get to a PM and I will send you my number, I probably have run 600 hours between my two. I am not familiar with the 805s but some folks are and have repaired the little display screen if yours has issues.

Yours sounds almost exactly like mine when I got it, I think it had 47 hours. Most any battery that will fit should work. I actually have a 24 volt nicad battery from an airplane that I ruined which works fine on mine now (actually that is in my 804b- regular batteries are in the 804a)...
It is my understanding that this is not possible on an 804 (really any MEP 80X series generator) due to the generator cranium design vs the MEP 00X series.

I would check to see if your county allows you to work on your own house. My county does and I wired my whole house to include a 400 amp service entrance, 2 200 amp main panels and a 125 amp subpanel. The book “Wiring a house” by Rex Cauldwell is excellent and the latest revision shows how to...
I have both an 804a and 804b. Between my particular sets the 804b is more tolerant of the huge inrush of current needed to get my FDECU-5 heat pumps running when the compressor kicks on. My 804a will pop a short circuit light most of the time while the same FDECU will work with my 804b. I...
In my county in NC while I was building the house, they had time set aside first thing in the morning where you could talk directly to the inspector that would look at your work. It saved lots of time since it reduced me going down the wrong rabbit path (as much) and I built a relationship with...
If you have all of the old plugs, you might try an aircraft avionics shop. All those small white wires look about the same size used in airplanes, plus they should have a way to imprint the numbers on the wire.

On the second 803, did it run ok before the filters were changed? If yes and it acts like it is not getting fuel after bleeding, how about the magnetic pickup (mpu). I only have 804s in that style, but when it cranks and acts like it is not getting fuel, there is usually some junk stuck to the...
I have both a 003 and 002. The 003 has always required me to hold the switch in crank about 15” after the oil pressure comes up or it will shut down. The 002 can be released as soon as the oil pressure comes up.

Is the 30 Kw a Stateline? I bought a fuel transfer unit that had one on it with a turbo Perkins and the DSE panel is a mystery to me even though I had read the online information, a MEP is so much simpler. Let me know when your unit comes in and you get up to speed on it and maybe you can...
I am curious on your choice of MEP 804a generators and your use for them. I also have two 804s to run my 3 phase equipment. These generators and larger sizes are not switchable between single and three phase so they are not as useful for backup power in most residential situations. Also...
