In all my years of owning an m35a2 (and constantly reading the lubrication TMs) I totally missed these zerks. thanks for sharing the info. I went out and lubricated mine trunnions on monday (along with the rest of the trucks lubrication points)
Welcome!
Sanderson is a cool little town (& that whole area is just AWESOME). I almost ended up working there for the Terrell County Sheriff's Office (this was back in 2009) but they called me two days after I had already accepted a position with another law enforcement agency.
The exo cages are used just for that reason. If the 548s were used a brush trucks (which is how they were painted/outfitted) then they would be driving through fields, trees, etc while fighting fires. My local VFD adds exo cages to their M35A3s, and M35A2s to protect the firemen/women & the...
A local veterans group is hosting a large veterans & pow/mia event at the Lubbock corn maze sunday 9/16 2p-6p. They would love to have any military vehicles on site for the event. The event flyer is attached as a photo & the facebook event is located here...
Took it for a nice "sunday drive" (on a tuesday). It was the first time in about 2 months I have taken it out.
I noticed the clutch engagement was now at the last 1in to 1/2in of the pedal throw...so that means I need to crawl under the truck and adjust the clutch engagement so I don't gak my...
M135 I spotted @ the military vehicle museum in Houston, TX. 90% of their vehicles are member owned, tagged, & fully functional.
If you have a change to visit the museum I highly recommend it. They have all kinds of military vehicles from mechanical mules to HEMTTs to M114s to functional...
went to the tx dmv to see why my new tags have not arrived (I renewed in early may and my temp plate expired yesterday). Well the dmv tag shipping folks claim that someone at the house "refused to accept the package and they were returned"...maybe the were at the wrong house??
The plates were...
I re-installed my cargo top today after having the old dry-rotted straps replaced at a local boat cover pace.
I also found a new hole I need to patch in the rear cargo corner (can be seen in pics). I also replaced the only wooden cargo bow I had with a steel one from the parts bin along with...
Did you make the move to Lubbock? A few of us lubbock MV-ers have a facebook group chat going & just met for an MV lunch. If you are in the area we would love to add you to the chat & have you join us next time
Our Lubbock lunch/hang-out was a blast!
5 of us showed up, hung out, and ate tasty food. There were two MVs (the other guys rigs were temporarily down but should hopefully be out next time) and the rest were daily drivers.
Here are a few pics:
On my last major trip with the M35A2 I had the sides of my cargo cover strapped up in a "bikini top" style. Well the west TX wind just beat it to pieces and snapped some attachment straps, specifically.
All the other threads I could find on the subject of "cargo top repair" were related to...
I'm considering selling my M38A1 & was hoping to get some opinions on where to start for pricing (assuming I do decide to sell).
At this time I'm still on the fence & discussing w/the wife. On one hand I would rather have a jeep I can actually drive/use/enjoy vs waiting some unknown amount to...
I was driving home from dallas, TX to lubbock, TX yesterday and noticed some MVs peeking out from behind a building (I try to keep my eye out for old vehicles). I made the block and found three M548s! (along with a few trucks)
The local FD had outfitted them for fire use. Here are some glamour...
