    Pre & Post Pyro Placement

A dual EGT gauge like the one Armada posted could do double duty. By adding a third probe hole, capped when not in use, it could monitor pre-T/post-T EGT's or the front 3 cylinders/back 3 cylinders simply by moving the probe. JimK

    Pre & Post Pyro Placement

Post turbo probes are fine. Commercial Mack trucks did this for decades. There are a few minor advantages - less thermal stress on the probe and some fail-safe should it break up(unlikely). Pre turbo has the advantage of more accurate indication of what temp the turbine wheel sees. However with...

    M35 Power steering choices

Here are some. Resale value Guest drivers Backing up trailers Tight spots off road Winch weight on frt end Reducing fatigue As for the top pic, the 2 air lines (to the cylinder) are missing and the port(s) look like a mud wasp nest is in the end. A tear down/clean out may be necessary. New...

    Sarge crashes his M1030

Sarge, Anything under 10mph, or in your own driveway, or during a blizzard, or with more than 3 persons on board - doesn't count as a crash. Sounds more like a bad day fishing, or a bike wash mishap. JimK 89' KLR 650 79' SR 650

Double your air, double your impacts......

My belt was due so I got a longer one to slow my compressor down (tryng to get all the HP I can to the wheels). I don't mind the slow fill, but really need to find that slow leak. One could go the other way for a tad more air. JimK

    Air-o-matic part info needed

The included rubber washers included need to be trimmed(about 40%) to allow the air cylinder end (with rubber washers) to fit inside the bracket. A bit too wide is nice as they flex and seal better that way. Their function is to seal the grease in spherical joint. There is also two metal tubes...

    Intank fuel pump

RE: Re: Intank fuel pump I contacted them too . Dave A. reply was Anyone know it? I don't know what is offered but their web site shows a photo of the complete pump(w/tank mount, hose and fuse cover). I took mine apart today for a look. Fuse was blown, screen partially clogged. pump ran with...

    No oil pressure at idle

Many years ago I read it takes 2 psi to float a bearing. Sure you'll need more at RPM, and under load, but idle is not too demanding. My Ranger P/U has almost no oil press, verified, at idle, when hot. Adding a few 100 rpm it rises off the peg quickly. I run SAE 30, sometimes a mix of old Deuce...

    V100 For sale?

That should be, "If you have to ask how much"...maz just asked if anyone was looking to sell one. That is about right. Someone had a good one last year for ~45K. Bargains don't last very long. Maz, either way you're close. If you sell it when you're done playing how much did it really cost...

looking for a M35A2 turbo to buy

stateside MV show vendors sometimes have a used one, or two. Abredeen this spring I saw a tight one one sitting for the first 2 days at least, unsold and only $75. Missing the oil portt fitting... They are easy to find if you look around a bit. I got my health D on e-bay. It was it 50 or $100...

Turning up the power on a Deuce

Mine was also a non-turbo (aka- N/A or a LD-465-1). It was a real smoker [at speed]. It seemed to smoke after increasing the throttle after it had reached max output at whatever RPM. It was not real strong. After all the available O2 is used [in the chamber] additional fuel just makes smoke...

New York State Heavy Vehicle Inspection??

My inspector asks which I prefer(deuce). I have been getting the heavy vehicle insp. Albany can make exceptions if you can prove your vehicle has "historical significance". I did this with the GTO before it qualified for the historical reg(and vintage plates). I went to custom plate Albany...

    Engine Prelube Info....

RE: Re: RE: pump Yes, and it's nice to put stuff [gathering dust] to work. I should point out that my gauge time [used here] were all at idle, and at 600-650 rpm. It was/is a LD engine, though last week I raised the idle to 800-850rpm. That would/has reduced the time lag . By how much? I can't...
